Media Encoder 24.6 Crashing on browse to output folder

Hi all,

I am getting an error whenever I try to select an output directory to save a file to "Adobe Media Encoder.exe has quit unexpectedly" This also happens when trying to import any presets, the program hangs then crashes.

If I add a file and let the output go back to the source folder, it works fine. Adding presets to the Encoder Presets folder also works fine. Crashes only seem to occur when asking Media Encoder to browse to a directory.

I have unistalled and reinstalled, rolled back to different versions. Removed the Encoder folder from Documents and tried changeing compability setting on the exe all to no avail.

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.19045 Build 19045 on a HP Z8.

Thanks,

**SOLVED**

The problem is Aspera Connect. If you have to use both programs like I do, uninstall Aspera Connect and reinstall it, on the installation box uncheck the "Register the Aspera Drive Shell Extension" option. You can also disable the extension without uninstalling like in this link: Disabling the Aspera Drive shell extension in Windows Explorer - IBM Documentation.

This does work correctly with Windows 11. Can you add information and your e-mail when submitting your crash so that we can look into the issue.

Do you have any additional software, such as anti-virus or security software, installed on your system?
