Media Encoder exports very overexposed

If I export in Premiere Pro (ver 23.1), the rendered file looks good. However, if I send the sequence over to Media Encoder (ver 23.1) to export (and don't change any settings - i.e. no presets applied or export settings changed), the resulting file is massively over exposed. I have re-installed Media Encoder, resetting all preferences, and am still experiencing the issue. (Exporting H.264 file). Any idea why the massive difference between exporting in Premiere vs Media Encoder? Please see the screenshots attached for reference. Using MacOS (ver 12.5). Thank you.

If you are using Raw Color Workflows on Log Space, you could also try to enable native import of sequences in AME ("Preferences…" > "General" > "Import sequences natively") and auto-detecting log color space in Premiere Pro ("Preferences…" > "General…" > "Log Color Management"), or alternately explicitly setting the input LUT using "Interprete footage" in Premiere Pro. LMK if this works for you.

Ok. So unchecking "import sequences natively" fixed the issue. However, takes a long time to import into AME now. What can I do from here so I can go back to "importing sequences natively" and still have AME render colors faithfully?

Then we need to find out what is different in your and my setup.

I am still trying to narrow down why you are seeing different results in your setup.

It would be useful information to us if you could try in Beta just to see if the issue goes away. You can install the beta apps for AME and Premiere Pro side by side to your releases.

Also, can you try to switch to software only mode in AME? Also, toggle the "Export sequences natively" to see if that changes the results?

Hi. I am using the latest official versions of PP (23.1) and AME (23.2). Both are up to date. I am wanting a solution with these apps rather than the beta apps, as Adobe states that regular app settings don't apply with beta apps, which is not a viable solution for my right now. What is the process for escalating this issue please, as it is costing me valuable time?

Thank you very much for the project.

I was not able to reproduce the issue yet on MacBook Pro 16" (2021, Apple M1 Max) using Adobe Premiere Pro (Beta) 23.3.0.26 and Adobe Media Encoder (Beta) 23.2.0.26, as well as Adobe Premiere Pro 23.2.0.67 and Adobe Media Encoder 23.2.0.63.

I also tried on an iMac Pro (Intel Xeon W) using macOS 12.6 Monterey and Adobe Premiere Pro  23.1.0.86 and Adobe Media Encoder 23.2.0.63.

You mentioned that you are using PPro/AME 23.1. Can you please give it a try in a newer version of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder, e.g. the beta?

LUT applied @ lumetri > creative > look

It is applied to the project - please see the project files I provided you.

Now that I have shared the project with you, are you able to diagnose the issue from your end please?

Thank you very much for the media. How did you apply the .cube file? Is that your input or output LUT? It does not appear to be applied in the project.

It is Premiere Pro, not After Effects.

Please see sample project here:

The applied LUT seems to be causing the issue, however it renders fine with Premiere Pro, and not with Media Encoder? Also an issue now with video size in Media Encoder 😞

Thanks for the screen recording, KristelleAmy. Would you be able to share a small AfterEffects including project for reproducing the issue on our end?

Mac specs:

Macbook Pro (16 inch, 2019)

Processor: 2.4GHz 8-core Intel Core i9

Memory: 64GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Storage: 2TB

Please find a link to a short video below illustrating the issue. Note the massive difference in the exposure of the two different previews. I didn't show the final renders, however, the final renders look exactly the same as the previews so I didn't bother.
