Hello all,

has anyone else encounted a recent 'go slow' on media encoder?

This has only happened in the last couple of weeks - I use it all the time and suddenly it is taking hours to encode 6 min clips.  Where as, exporting directly is taking 12 minutes.

very frustrating. Any advice would be amazing.

YES!   Mainly adding clips to the queue.   I capture MiniDV tapes to folders.  Standard def avi files.  One tape per folder.  Usually 40 to 100 files per folder.  May 12GB of files if it's a full tape.  I usually drag a folder into AME and drop it on "Drop here to stitch clips together".  In the past it would take maybe 15 to 30 seconds to load and there would be a progress bar as it made it's way thru the folder.   Starting maybe a week or two ago, it now takes like 5 minutes to appear in the queue.  No more progress bar - the "Add Items to Queue" pop up hangs and says "Not Responding"

Once they are in there everything is okay and rendering is still fast.  But wow it used to rip thru them on the loading.  I could queue up 10 tapes in less than 5 minutes.  Now it's like 30 to 45 minutes to queue up 10 tapes.  Have to check emails or type messages like this while I'm waiting for it to come back.
