Media Encoder ignoring older and licenced effects when encoding

When I export from Premiere Pro by sending to Media Encoder, Media Encoder is bypassing certain effects from the Premiere project. It will export a video that plays fine with no error messages, but the video will be missing a certain audio filter or video effect. I have noticed it happening mostly with "obsolete" effects and with third party licenced effects like Cosmo II and the L1 Limiter from Waves.

I recently upgraded to the Mac Studio with the M2 Max. I am running all adobe software through Rosetta so that I can use the effects that are no longer supported like the Three-way color correction, Change to Color and others. I have hundreds of projects that rely on these effects, and I can't simply replace them all. All these effects work fine in Premiere and export fine if I export directly from Premiere. But if I send to Media Encoder it just ignores those effects. I'm currently running Version 23.1 of Premiere, and was running version 23.1 of Media Encoder, but I updated to version 23.5 of Media Encoder. I'd appreciate any help in solving this issue. Thanks!

I'm on a new Mac Studio 2023 with the Apple M2 Max. Running Ventura 13.4. Version 23.1 of Premiere and Version 23.5 of Media Encoder. There are multiple projects that are giving me issues, but I can share one with you if you want to private message instructions.

What system are you on? Can you share the project? I can private message you with the instructions in this forum.

Okay. I cleared the media cache and then turned off "Import sequences natively". I was able to export one sequence and it did encode with the L1 Limiter effect, however it did not have the change to color effect on. Then I tried a different sequence from another project and it ignored the L1 Limiter again.

Even before I re-cleared the media cache it had also gone back to ignoring the Cosmo filter and three way color corrector. Seems almost random at this point which effects it's going to use in the encode, and which it will ignore. It's very confusing and strange. I appreciate help though.

OK, now delete Media Cache again and turn "Import Sequences Natively" off again. and retry the export LMK the outcome.

Thanks for your patience!

That seems to have worked for the most part. I Turned on "Import Sequences Natively", then I cleared the cache in premiere. Now my video effects are encoding properly through Media Encoder.

However I still can't seem to get Media Encoder to recognize the L1 Limiter audio filter that I have licensed through Waves. The fitler works in Premiere, and when I export directly from Premiere. But it does not work when I send to Media Encoder.

Next, I would try to delete the media cache and repeat the export. (In Premiere Pro, go to Edit > Preferences > Media Cache, and click on the "Clean" button to clear the media cache. This can sometimes resolve issues related to exporting and encoding.)

Did you try a direct export from Premiere Pro? As a temporary workaround, you can export your video directly from Premiere Pro instead of sending it to Media Encoder.

Please let me know the outcomes.

I have actually already tried that. I tried it with Import Sequences Natively checked, and unchecked. It didn't seem to resolve the issue.

In that case you may want to toggle "Import sequences natively" in AME preferences.
