Media Encoder no longer importing AVI files after update

I recently updated Media Encoder to to version 24.4.1 and it will no longer import AVI files I've rendered with After Effects.  The import progress bar is full, but frozen.  I reverted back version by version and had the same problem until I got to ME version 23.5

I've tried several different files and the only difference to my workflow is the ME update.

Is there a different codec for AVI files in the newer versions that I need to download or has anyone else had a similar issue?  I'm fine using the old version for now but I would prefer having updated version functioning.

Thanks

Unable to repro. Which flavour of AVI do you use? Which hardware or software produced them? Can you share AVIs and comps? I can private message you the instructions in this forum.

Trying to repro. What are your specs (OS, CPU, GPU, memory)?

Additionally, Now After Effects will no longer import the AVI files that were created in After Effects.  There has to be some simple solution to this

It seems that downgrading to 23.6.7 (or lower) is the easiest solution. There has been and is still issues with MXF-files and version 24 and abowe. I wish i had a better solution though.

I have lot´s of DV AVI files and when i tested them everything worked as expected in version 24 and abowe. Do you know the codec in your files?

No error messages or corrupt file issues.  It just hangs on zero progress on the import bar in both programs

Have you tried to reset the preferences for AME 24?

To reset the preferences: Hold down the Shift-key while launching AME.

AVI is just a file wrapper, so the codec you used when you rendered it from AE must be installed on your computer, but since AME 23.5 can open it the codec must be installed. Most of the times resetting the preferences solve issues like this. If not, try to re-install the codec you used in AE.

Any progress?

Unfortunately no progress. I checked on the preferences that AME navigated
from the update and everything seems to be as usual. The problem is now
occurring in Premiere as well after the update. I reset and changed to my
normal settings again in Premiere and AME but no luck. VLC and Windows
Media Viewer can read the exact same AVI files on the same computer so I
know it's isolated to the update version of AME 24 and Premiere 24.5
So frustrating losing the ability to use the program after the update
