Media Encoder won't load RED.RMD file

I have adjusted the RED Source settings for a couple of RED clips in Premiere.  I have saved those source settings to the RMD, by clicking the "Save to RMD" button at the top of the source settings.  I see the .RMD files in the finder, with an updated Date Modified corresponding to when I saved them.  So I know that the RMD settings are being saved.

When I import one of the RED clips into Media Encoder, it shows up as RAW, without the RMD settings applied.  So I right-click, select "Source Settings" and then click the "Load from RMD" button at the top of the RED source settings screen.  However, it just reverts to "as shot" and does not apply the RMD that I had saved.  I have tried this workflow several times, in both Premiere & AME 2022 and Premiere & AME 2023.  The RMD simply will not load in AME.

I'm not going to be able to recreate that specific set up. But I'm curious if you have access to a different machine, and if you can reproduce this error there? It's a glitch, but I'd like to figure out what exactly is glitching.

Thanks!

Eric

Thx for looking into this, @eric escobar. I'm on a MacPro 6,1 (trashcan), 8-core, 64 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Monterey 12.6.5.  The weird thing is that one of my clips is having no trouble, the other 3 are.  I've deleted and recreated the RMDs for the 3 clips that aren't working, and still nothing.  So feels like some kind of glitch, since the one clip is behaving totally fine, but I'm just not having any issues with any of the clips and can't find anything that might distinguish the one from the three.  All 4 are kind of long, that is 2 are ~20 minutes, and the other two are like ~8 mins.  One of the shorter ones is the good one.  I've got the media on a 28 TB TB3 G-Raid drive (running thru an apple TB2 > TB3 adapter), formatted APFS.  I've been using this drive for a couple months, and it's performed rock solid, no other issues.

Hello ryanfritzche,

I am trying to reproduce this error on my system but I am unable to. I have a Komodo and I'm using the 1.6.5 firmware. When I make changes to the clip settings in PPro and then save to the RMD file, when I open the clip in Media Encoder, the settings I made and saved in Premiere Pro are intact.

I'm on an Intel Mac and I have the clip on my local drive. Can you give me some more specifics so I can chase down whatever is going on here?

OS? Is the file local or across a network? Or maybe on a CFast card? Any more information I can use so I can recreate it on my end would be great.

Thanks,

Eric

Ugh.  Just did some more testing and found that it works properly on one of my RED shots but not others.

I have 4 shots.  2 each from an A and B camera.  One of the shots from B will load the RMD, the other will not and neither of the shots from the A camera will load.

Both cameras were RED Komodo, Camera Firmware 1.6.5, 5760x3240.  I can find no differenes in the footage properties among the cameras or among any of the 4 shots.  But one works, and the other 3 will not the RMD in AME.
