PC crashes when rendering 8K 60fps ProRes ... tried a lot, now I run out of ideas
Hi,
My PC crashes when I try to render a master file of our VR/ 360 movie from Premiere/ Media Encoder (technically for Adobe the VR filme is just a normal equirectangular video 8192x4096). I try since a week.
Strangly the single clips in the video are already sorts of master files (8K 60fps ProRes4444 files rendered in Media Encoder but from After Effects - rendering those worked, even with many masks, pre-comps, also lumetri colours too but even with NeatVideo and other effects).
On some of those "sort of master files"I put lumetri for a final colour correction and on single ones little other fixes. Also most chose a new center of the 360 image (the image stays almost the same but is shifted).
There is no error code, as the PC crashes or restarts at some point.
It always stoped between the filesize of 60-85 GB.
I tried:
- Installed the latest Nvidia studio driver.
- Deleted all Cash files
- Cleaned to project so only the files in the timeline were left
- Copied all data from the external SSD to another external harddrive and tried it from there.
- Change in MediaEncoder to: Mercury Playback Engine - Software Only
- Rendering directly from Premiere (which makes no difference, if I understand right)
- I tried to render just parts of the video, also just the last part.
- I tried ProRes 422HQ; GoPro Cineform; ProRes4444
- I also rendered a jpg sequence of the first quarter, to see if there is any corrupt frame (I didn´t try a TIFF sequence as it would consume multiple terrabyte of space, which I don´t have at that time ... of course, if there is no other solution, I will do it and render a huuuuge TIFF sequence on 2-3 8TB drives step by step and than again convert it to a mov.)
My computer specs (even I don´t think that´s the problem):
- Windows 10 (Version 10.0.19044)
- AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core 3.70 GHz
- 128 RAM
- GeForce RTX 3080 (Driver version 516.93)
More info:
- The single video files in my timeline have 16bit colour depth.
- My Adober Cash location is on an internal SSD, but Adobe itself is on the main SSD system drive (of course also internal).
So there are 4 drives: a) The system drive where also is Adobe b)The seconder internal SSD drive for the Adobe Cash. c)The external SSD with the project files and all source files d)the internal HDD as the destination location for the rendered file.
Any ideas what I could have overseen?
Or is there a Adobe problem?
Thanks a lot!
