Adobe CC Recording Issue 7-26-24

I've been using CC without too many issues for a couple years. Then today, my recording sounded like this! (Attached.) It had been working fine, until it didn't. I changed no settings or anything. I don't have the technichal vocabulary to desribe what is "happening" to this sound file, so any suggestions would be appreciated!

Note: I've rebooted my PC three times, tried it with no other browsers or programs running, and that didn't help. Thanks in advance!

Hi Steve. This is WAY late, but I REALLY appreciated your response to my last issue in July! Since then I always double check to ensure my temp drive is an external USB (which I occasionally remove to back up another computer.) Again, thanks a lot, and I hope you and your family & friends have a wonderful holday season!

Well, I have to say that it sounds like a temp file problem. All recording in Waveform view goes to a temp file initially, and isn't written to the final file until you save it. Ideally your temp drive should be on a drive of its own (like an external usb drive), but just relocating it to a new folder in a different location may help - the default option is rarely ideal. You can alter this in Edit>Preferences>Audition Audio Disk Cache by browsing for a new location from there. You will have to restart Audition for this to take effect.

Anyway, try that first. If it makes no difference, report back.

Hi Steve,

Yes, this was a .wav file and not part of a session. The "save as" was Wave PCM format, 44100 Hz Stereo, 16 bit... and Wave Uncompressed 16-bit Integer

Was this in Waveform view, or a Multitrack recording?
