Audition overwrites original Date Created just doing a save (aiff, flac)

I have to think this is a bug. When I edit and save something in Audition, instead of just adjusting the Data Modified and keeping the Date Created (like Izotope RX and XLD do for example), it overwrites the Date Created with the current date/time. I can't have this happen. What's going on?

The team has this logged as a bug. I'll let this thread knows when this is resolved. Thanks

@Rag and Bone  That doesn't really explain how other programs like Izotope RX are able to do it just fine, I can't believe they use 4 different internal formats.

There's definitely a bug, because even going by your wav logic, I just modified a wav file and saved it, and it overwrote the file creation date as well.

@Adolfo H. There's really no video needed to show you, it's easily reproducible on Mac. It's been happening for years. I have a Mac Mini Intel 2018 that was on Monetary before now Sequoia, multiple major release versions of Audition. Upgrades, brand new completely clean installs, all do the same thing.

I know it's not my computer because I have a 2021 Silicon MacBook Pro that's completely separate, that also has various versions of Sonoma and Sequoia and Audition, doing the exact same thing, completely reproducible.

I work in IT / Tech Support myself. Trust me, I've already troubleshot this extensively.

Hi @GodzFire ths is Adolfo from Adobe. Thank you for reporting this. Could you share a video with me about the issue and your system specs? Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm guessing that, since Audition's internal format is WAV, the edited file, when saved as aiff or flac, is, in effect, a new creation. Not ideal, but that might be what's going on. Always work on a duplicate, I guess.
