Audition won't open unless I restart my computer

I just got a new computer and downloaded the latest version of audition. I had to uninstall and reinstall before it would open the first time. Now I have to completely restart my computer every time I want to open audition because otherwise it won't start.

The other thing to make sure of is that you are opening Audition with Administrator permissions - all sorts of weirdness can happen if you don't...

  1. Try starting Audition while holding down the Shift key. This will reset Audition's preferences.
  2.  Use the CC Cleaner App to completely remove all of Creative Cloud and Audition, and then re-install.

 

If those don't work, please reply with information about your computer. Specifically:

  • Windows or Mac?
  • What version of the operating system?
  • Which version of Audition (from About Audition, not just "latest version," please)?
  • How much RAM does your computer have?
  • How much free disk space does your computer have?
