Audition Won't Save With Command+S

Lately, possibly since updating, pressing CMD+S doesn't actually save in Adobe Audition. There's the little save animation plays in the Files list, but the asterisk remains, and if I try to close the file, Audition asks me to save the changes. This is happening in both Waveform and Multitrack views.

Adobe Audition ver. 24.2.0.83

macOS 13.5.2

SOLVED with Adobe Tech Support. Noting the solution in case others encounter this.

Somehow, while updating Adobe Audition via the Creative Cloud Desktop App, Audition lost its permissions on my computer. Adobe Tech Support walked me through giving Audition Full Disk Access permission and setting the Applications/Adobe Audition folder and its contents to Read/Write permissions for all. Once that was done, i could save files correctly again. It also cured a related problem that the project or file metadata was being reverted to previous versions or blank the moment I saved inside Audition.
