Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help, At times when I'm recording sound in Audtion the sound clips a lot and then is distorted, I don't know why audition does this, The only way to fix it to me is to uninstall audition and then reinstall it and it's now getting tiresome to do that every other day or week, If someone could help me then that would be amazing 🙂

I'll try moving the folder, It's on a seperate drive not on the main one, so D rather than C, I'll give the multi track a go as well as I normally just record in the Waveform mode as it's easier to see things, I'm currently working on a PC 🙂

Sounds as though you are recording in Waveform view, and you have a buffering issue - clipping and distortion are taken to mean something different in audio terms. The first thing to do is try recording in Multitrack view, as that works in a completely different way. In Waveform view a recording is made to a temporary file, and not written to your final file until you save it. In Multitrack, your recording is written directly into your final file, and this is far less troublesome.

But you should attempt to fix this problem anyway. A first move would be to create a new folder, ideally on a separate drive, for Audition to use as temporary storage, and not the default location (you can change this in Preferences). Also you might want to try increasing the latency value (or time, depends on what driver you are using) and see how this impacts the results. To be more specific, we'd need to know whether this is happening on a Mac or a PC...
