only records for like 0.400 seconds

so i have used adobe with the same micriphone on my like 5 year old pc. when i changes it to my new windows laptop i got recently its no longer working properly. when i record audio it records like 0.400 seconts. i have looked at a lot of things here and here is a list of things i already tried that i can remember.

1. checked if audition has acess to micriphone

2. restarted computer

3. miciphone works in other apps

I found the problem. Before in the Audio Hardware the Device Class was set to MEE but once i switched it to QASAPI it worked. The audio was a bit staticy tho and i turned on Take exclusice control of devices. Once i did that it was no longer staticy and its working just fine now.

I dont understand all the tecnical bits of this but i hope this helps someone else.

i am in instant mode. i also just found out that i start recording and looking at it now the recording is takeing 7 actual seconts to get to 1 second in audition. it just records like 1/2 a secont
