Rode NT1 5th Gen - 32 Bit Float not working - Windows

I am using the Rode NT1 5th gen trying to use the 32 bit float to get unclippable recordings but it's not working.

 

I have installed the ASIO driver and switched to the ASIO in audition. I have set the bit depth to 32 bit float for recording. I am able to record but when I test to get peaks the audio is still clipped when I adjust the gain. 

 

I'm on Windows 10. Should I be able to go into the sound settings on Windows and change the bit depth to 32 bit? I am only seeing the option for 24 bit.

A couple of scenarios: Clipping will still appear if you exceed the visual range of the system - what should happen is that just reducing the actual level of the signal back into the visual window should result in an unclipped signal. Of course if it's visually overloaded then the chances are that it will also sound clipped, because the physical device you are playing it through doesn't cope with floaating point signals.
