When I create a new marker in waveform editor, zoom view moves immediately to the beginning

I've only encountered this issue this week, but it is happening everytime I use Audition.

When I am in waveform editor, I will zoom in, let's say to the middle of a file, and add a cue marker either by using keyboard shortcut "M" or through the right click menu. The zoom immediately moves over the beginning of the file, so I'm no longer looking at where I just created the marker.

Can anyone explain this behaviour?

I'm in Audition 23.3.0.55 on a MacBook Pro, 2021 M1 Pro.
