P: 13.1 right-drag to change healing brush size stops working

In Camera Raw 13.1.0.658 in the Heal panel after the first click to heal, dragging with the right mouse button down no longer changes the brush size.  The horizontal double arrow cursor is still displayed, but dragging left or right has no effect.

Moving the size slider, or simply clicking in the numeric field to the right of the size slider, restores normal operation.  However, after the next click to heal, right-dragging stops working again.

In Camera Raw Preferences > Performance, I selected Use Graphics Processor: Off, but this didn't help.

Greetings,

This issue should be fixed in the Camera Raw 13.2 update that went live today. This update includes fixes to some of the top customer reported issues among other bug fixes. See: Fixed issues in Camera Raw

To update Camera Raw 13.2, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to Camera Raw. See: More detailed instructions for updating

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash

You are correct.  I don't know what I did the first time I tried this.  It is broken on Mac.

Must be a Windows only bug as it works correctly on macOS 10.15.7

Having investigated a little further, I can report the following behaviour:

  • After first selecting the Spot Removal Tool there are no resizing issues
  • After a brush application with a mouse click i.e. circular area, the size cannot be changed using the mouse wheel or [ and ] keys but it can by using the size slider
  • After a brush application by drawing an irregular shape, resizing is possible

Conclusion seems to be that a mouse click freezes the resizing feature.

I've noticed this bug as well. *sigh*

I believe this is a known bug.

When the Spot Removal Tool is first selected, it can be resized as normal to the desired size. However, once it has been applied with a mouse click, it cannot be resized ready for its next application. Its size remains stubbornly fixed. Resizing is only reactivated if the tool is deselected and then selected again - I press B twice to quickly achieve this. The Adjustment Brush does not suffer from this phenomenon.

I can repro this. I noticed that if I draw a Heal stroke when it is in the stuck state it will restore the Right-click Drag functionality.

I will log it with the team.
