P: Camera Raw 9.3: Broken "Default Develop Settings"

Massive issue after updating to Lightroom 6.3.
The “Default Develop Settings” isn’t working, the settings are reset every time you start Lightroom.
I’ve got hundreds of default settings for different ISOs saved for a number of cameras, all don’t work.
The folder with the Default Develop Settings still contains all my defaults:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Defaults.
But they don't load anymore with Lightroom 6.3, so when I hit "reset" on a photo it resets the photo to lightroom default values instead of what I set in the "default develop settings".

When I try to set a new “Develop Setting”, let’s say, default develop setting for clarity on ISO100 photos is +10, it works for the duration of my lightroom session, BUT as soon as I close lightroom and restart it, the default develop setting doesn’t work, i.e. when I click "reset" on a photo, it resets the clarity back to 0 which is the lightroom default and not +10 which is my default for the ISO100 photo (this is of course a simplification of the problem).

Does anybody else have this issue? This is a very big deal for me, these default develops settings save me huge amounts of time normally...

Yes, the same bug is reproducible in ACR 9.3 and will be fixed in the coming ACR 9.4.

Sorry I'm not real seasoned in these forums. This is happening with Sony files (A7RII) in ACR 9.3 in PS too. I don't use LR. Has this been reported and is a fix in the works. 9.3.1 didn't fix the problem. Thank you.

This is fixed for Lr 6.4 (the next scheduled release).

Starting with Lightroom 6.3 suddenly my camera specific import setting all go back to the Adobe default every time I shut down/restart the program.
Main reason to use the automatic import settings them is assigning my own camera colour profile as well as some other minor develop tweaks.

I'm not using camera serial # specific nor iso specific import settings, just one for every camera type and all iso's

This didn't happen with LR6.1 or earlier. Anything I'm missing or any tips I can try to make them work as before?

My temporary work around is a preset for every camera that I apply upon import, but would like to go back to the way it worked with 6.1 and earlier.

I'm on a Windows 8.1 machine and use a perpetual LL version

I had the same problem, reported here 7 days ago: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photosh...

Since I'm also using Sony cameras this seems to be the same problem. Looking forward to the bug being fixed in the next release.

In the meantime I'll just keep importing using a camera specific preset.

Like in-camera default noise reduction (depend on ISO) and lens distortion parameters etc. We made the factory defaults work properly, but not the user-customized defaults (thus the bug). The most recent break impacts the Sony cameras.

OK, let's wait for next updated release, then.
By the way, what "in-camera defaults" are now honored by LR 6.3, out of curiosity?

Thanks

Hi Michael, I able to reproduce the bug using your test files (it is Sony camera specific). The bug has been affecting a few specific camera models for a while. But what's new in Lr 6.3/ACR 9.3 is that the bug started affecting all Sony cameras. Lr 6.3/ACR 9.3 began to honor some in-camera defaults at the request of the vendor, but unfortunately it exposed the unexpected side effects to all sony models.

Sorry about that and the team will fix the bug in the next update of Lr and ACR update. Thanks for reporting the issue.

Simon, I just uninstalled Lightroom 6.3 and reinstalled 6.0 followed by 6.2.1 and default develop settings work again.

All my previously saved default develop settings work, which is a huge relief.

Although I hope this can be resolved in 6.3 because there are other issues in 6.2.1 (importing photos) which I would like to move away from.
