P: Constrain Crop not saving in preset

I posted this on the adobe.com forums, but it may get more traction here....

Since updating to LR 7.3, all my presets were imported and can be used. But none of them allow the Constrain Crop option under Transform to be set by default.

Even if I apply my preset, click Constrain Crop and "Update with current settings" on the preset, it still doesn't re-apply.

Running Windows 10 64bit.

If you want a specific placement, do it on one photo then sync it to all the others. If you want to change it on each photo, then of course you'd need to work through the photos one by one.

yes but I only see a way to crop to a specific size- not a size and placement. How would you move the crop and sync it in the grid view?

Anything you do from Grid view applies to all selected photos. Or sync (rather than paste) to multiple photos works in Develop.

how without pasting them to each photo separately?

"It would be really nice to not have to run a batch through Photoshop after everything is finished in Lightroom"

You can copy/paste/sync the Crop develop settings from one photo to a batch of selected photos.  While not as convenient as having a preset, it should be faster than sending them to Photoshop.

The constrain crop now stays checked (thank you) but I still do not have the ability to save a crop as a preset. It would be really nice to not have to run a batch through Photoshop after everything is finished in Lightroom... Thanks for fixing the constrain crop. I have spent hours scrolling down just to tick that box.

Lightroom Classic 8.4 was released today and contained a fix for this issue. Please update to 8.4 and verify that you are no longer seeing the issue. Thank you!

> They also changed the ability to save a crop

Can you explain that one further Denise? Nothing should have changed there, unless you're using the newer Cloudy one (which doesn't have that feature yet) instead of Classic.

Welcome to my world... The thing that is sooooooo stupid is that this use to work. They broke it and won't fix it. They also changed the ability to save a crop so now... if you took many photos on a tripod you have to crop each and every one. You can copy and paste it but you can't save it. 😞
