I have never had an issue with ACR before.18.3 freezing saying not responding saving files took twenty minutes instead of seconds everything was super laging, when I disabled the GPU acceleration it improved I see on the other pages I am not alone I'm using the most up to date windows, Nvidia drivers ETC: I have a 7950x, 5090, 64GB and NVME drives. Please fix as soon as possible or at least give a link to the previous version which I had no issues with.

Solution:

Update following the instructions in this link:

Same Problem, Adobe why should I have to figure a work around to your problem??!!!! You take millions from working professionals and give very little support or make us do your work. We have clients and deadlines, oh I guess the photo software cartel worries more about pushing the AI stuff and pleasing shareholders:(

Have you followed the instructions found elsewhere in this thread?  It fixes the issue for many.

hi rikk, yes, it´s fixed. BUT.. Why do I, as a paying customer, have to deal with such things? It's a shame.

I updated today on an M3 MacBook Pro and Camera RAW is unusable. It lags switching crops. Trying to mask brings up the beach ball and then lags. This is garbage!

Btw.  I am on a Mac M1 and have disabled acceleration as a test.  Made no difference.

This has become totally unusable for Masks.  Masking is incredibly slow.  The overlay takes forever to show.  One of your support engineers I read here says that Resetting Camera RAW settings will help. Huh?  WHERE is the reset for preferences.  I can’t find it.  And I doubt it will help.  PLEASE roll back to the previous version.

Full Description for the Bug Report:

I am experiencing a persistent "Module cannot parse" error in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) specifically when using Super Resolution or opening high-res CR3 files from my Canon R5. This issue makes it impossible to work within Photoshop.

Crucial Fact: The exact same files and AI operations work perfectly and instantly in Lightroom Classic on the same machine. This confirms the hardware and files are not the issue.

    System Environment (CEG-SUPERPROART):

    • Computer Name: CEG-SUPERPROART

    • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K

    • RAM: 96GB DDR5 6000 MT/s

    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16GB)

    • OS: Windows 11 Pro (Fresh Install)

    Troubleshooting already performed:

    • Tested in both 8-bit and 16-bit modes.

    • Tested with GPU acceleration ON and OFF.

    • Purged Camera Raw cache.

    • Full system format and clean Adobe CC installation.

This appears to be a specific bridge/parsing failure in the Photoshop ACR plug-in, potentially related to the new RTX 50-series architecture.

Since updating to version 18.3, Camera Raw no longer runs smoothly. It freezes constantly and is very slow. Photoshop itself runs smoothly, though. I've cleared the cache and increased the memory, but nothing has helped. I get a message saying "Graphics processor has insufficient memory..." and "GPU acceleration is now limited...". This is happening on both of my computers. Can someone please offer a solution to my problem?

Rolled back to 18.1.1 as well. Solved the issues right away.
It seemed like it is connected to ai functions. It was getting better, when i disabled the ai extend function, but still very unuseable.
thanks for the hint to uptodown!!

    Dear Adobe,
the majority of the people using CR, PS and other tools are professional photographer that cannot spend hours because of 300 settings to tweak on a Mac M2/M3/M4…
We need a software that is working and worth the monthly payment you kindly ask us!!!
Release a patch that doesn't need tweaks.

    Thanks in advance!!!
