Update to latest LR: Now, moving sliders causes image colors to dim and brighten in a psychedelic way!. Not good. Makes you think video card is going.

Calm down my friend - When I applied below config.lua Simon suggested ,  my graphic card is not blacklisted any more and also original issue here we were discussing about seems to be gone .
Is adobe working on tests before releasing stable fix ? Anyway currently I am happy with my lightroom . Hope this also works for you -
For your reference , when I click "About This mac" ,

OS X El Capitan
Version 10.11.5

iMac(27-inch, Mid 2011)
Processor : 3.4Ghz Intel Core i7
Memory : 16GB 1333mhz DDR3 (I upgraded )
Graphics : AMD Radeon HD6970M 1024MB

Have a nice day -!

The following AMD GPUs on Macs running El Capitan are blacklisted in Lr 6.6 because of reported driver issue with El Capitan: Radeon HD: 6330M, 6350M, 6370M, 6430M, 6450M, 6470M, 6490M, 6530M, 6550M, 6570M, 6630M, 6650M, 6730M, 6750M, 6770M, 6830M, 6850M, 6850M, 6870M, 6950M, 6970M, 6990M.

It is reasonable for Lightroom to take the step to blacklist these AMD GPUs until the driver issue is confirmed fixed in an Mac OS X update (see note). If you are sure to take the risk for working with the non-officially supported GPU with Lightroom. Try the following,

  1. Open Lightroom.
  2. Invoke Lightroom > Preferences... menu command
  3. When the Preferences dialog appears, select the Presets tab.
  4. Click on the button labeled “Show Lightroom Presets Folder...”
  5. Lightroom will reveal the root preset folder in the Finder/Explorer.
  6. Now goto http://adobe.ly/29TzG8f  and download the config.lua file and copy it into the root preset folder at step 5. The config.lua setting would instruct Lightroom to bypass the blacklisting anyway.
  7. Relaunch Lr.

Hope this helps,

Note: Apple has informed us that the driver issue with these AMD card *may* have been fixed with the latest Mac OS X 10.11.5. So it would be good to get some confirmation from the folks who reported the issue here either with the Lr CC 2015.5.1/ 6.5.1 or with Lr CC 2015.6/6.6 following the documented workaround described above (with Mac OS X 10.11.5 of course).

So now you have blacklisted my video card and LR is unusable and slow!!!!! Why kind of company are you ??? You screwed up, not AMD or anyone else. It all worked fine until Adobe updated LR. Not when AMD changed anything nor Apple changed anything, Adobe changed their software and broke LR!!!!!!!!!

Now fix it!!!!

The point is , this issue never happened until adobe update is applied .
Do you still think this is not problem of Adobe ?
If Adobe cannot provide fix for this , or it takes much time , I think it is customer's right to use old version of product.  Why in the hell should I pay monthly for this  ?

Steve is correct. Unfortunately Apple and AMD are not responding. Adobe has tried to escalate the issue with them multiple times to the extent that we might need to blacklist the list of AMD GPU card that might be affected. You should push Apple and AMD if you can.

It's a problem with a video driver not Adobe, so why aren't you threatening to switch to another hardware manufacturer for your video (or computer) and telling them they better fix it?

OK, still not fixed after a month. I would like a FULL refund of this last month's money ASAP please. I am currently looking at another image processing solution and if this is not fixed soon, will stop paying you a load of money every month for faulty software.

I am also suffering from this issue . Please fix this issue ASAP to not feel like I've done dumbest thing ever ; I've been using without any problem at all with LR4(downloaded illegally) until switched to CC . I should have donated 12$ to my hungry children in north part of my country ( I live in south Korea) .

And now it's already 1 month of struggling with this issue... Since Lightroom is almost unusable, I'm currently experiencing C1 Pro. Because, well, if we agree to all the burden of the monthly subscription system, we don't expect answers like "turn off this tech and get stuck with the old version".

Come on, guys,
even with a cooling dock, I've put an end to working without GPU acceleration, too much heating and noise from fans at max speed.
