Update to latest LR: Now, moving sliders causes image colors to dim and brighten in a psychedelic way!. Not good. Makes you think video card is going.

Just updated to RAW 9.5 and Lightroom 6.5 and I'm experiencing the problem in both apps.

Whenever I make a change (exposure, contrast, highlights, blacks etc.) the image flickers. So there's no smooth transition, it just jumps around constantly from bright to dark and back again. It does end up with the correct result once I'm done but it's very difficult to see what I'm actually doing while doing it.

Macbook, El Capitan v. 10.11.4
All Creative Cloud apps are up to date

Lightroom updated a couple of days ago and now the screen flashes darker whenever I move a slider in develop module if graphics acceleration is turned on. Adobe really seem to have struggled with hardware acceleration implementation to me 😞 (using OSX El Capitan)

you're right, I switched off UGP and it worked. Thanks Chris!

I made the same experience. Whenever I hovered over the sliders or I tried to drag them in any direction it dims and lightens and I also get a reduced quality of the image looking as it would have been painted with a fineliner...
I switched of graphics acceleration and LR runs like before the update. I now will follow Chris Schwegler in switching off the UGP having already uninstalled LR and am now re-downloading the app. Let's see what happens...

No, does not help...

What is not shown in the video is, the longer I hold down on the sliders, the more active the color change is on the dimming and brightness.

This just started happening. The Catalog has been used for editing and restarted. The Catalog yesterday was 35MB. Now it's 230 GB.

found another solution that worked for me.

1. disabling "Use Graphic Processor" worked like a charm.
2. disable "UGP" and then uninstalled LR and reinstalled and then enable "Use Graphic Processor". I dont know if just uninstalling LR would work, just giving you my process.
