Right click open "path/to/file.cfm" won't work on some sites

In my source, I have the following (as one of thousandss of examples): <cfinclude template="/error.cfm">

Within DW, if I right click on that line in my code I get an option in the context menu for Open "/error.cfm"

On some sites, this consistently does nothing at all, and on others it consistently works as expected. The sites it doesn't work on used to also work, but no longer do. The issue is purely opening linked files from the context menu, all else is fine.

I have had Adobe support controlling my PC for an hour and were unable to suggest a cause or even fully understand the problem.

Anyone else had issues with this context menu?

DW 21.2 (15523 Build)

Removing the "Web URL" from server settings on the site has fixed this issue. I am unsure why the Web URL woould be used to open local files, but the change has fixed the issue

I have just tried changing the paths to relative rather than absolute.

<cfinclude template="../error.cfm"> works from a child directory of the root, but <cfinclude template="/error.cfm"> does not.

I am certain I have something at site level setting this as it only applies on some of my DW site configs.

Thanks Nancy,

I am using CF but it refuses to do anything regardless of file type (parent or included). So a cfm file won't open embedded cfm, css, script etc.

I am pretty sure it is related to sites rather than DW as a whole because some of my sites work as expected with the context menu opening the embed, but other sites just do nothing.

On sites where this behaviour work and sites that where it doesn't there is not a header bar showing related files. I have refreshed related files and tried filtering for .cfm, but the filter couldn't be created as there are no results to match .cfm in a page with a donzen embedded .cfm files.

Under related files, I only have Source Code listed.

What file extension are you working with?

Do you see related file tabs across the top of your open document?  See screenshot.  I'm working with a .php file containing PHP include statements.  But it should work with CF.  Clicking on the tab should open the file, assuming it resides in your local site folder.

Or try View > Related Files.  You should see a list of the related files in your document.

If not, go to View > Related File Options > Filter > Custom Filter.   Enter the include file name and extension.

Hope that helps.
