The most recent DW update (May 2025) broke some things

The update I installed on 05/27/25 gave me hope that Dreamweaver would keep getting updates other than security, but instead it broke it even more: clicking on the design/live panel doesn't always select the corresponding code anymore (it would randomly happen before the update, but that involved it not working at all and having to close/reopen the file to fix it); writing code suddenly starts in one point and jumps into another part of the code panel, so if you're not paying attention to the screen, you will have to go back searching where you started to type to cut and paste what's in the wrong place back there; the help menu doesn't work anymore to submit bugs and to link to Adobe Forums; it caused the beach ball to appear and got unresponsive, and there's no other app that does that on this M1 Macbook Pro. And it still didn't correct one of the things that previous updates broke: select + grab + opt doesn't create a copy of code, there's actually no way to copy code and leave the original behind other than selecting, copying and pasting, which is not as fast and easy.

DW version 21.5, build 15662, on a M1 Pro Macbook Pro running Sequoia 15.3.1

Hi @Renato37011637o1k3,

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please confirm if you have Rosetta installed on your Mac ARM machine ?

Currently, Dreamweaver requires Rosetta for the app to work smoothly on Mac ARM platform and hence please confirm if you see improvements after installing Rosetta.

Please refer this link for the steps for installing Rosetta: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255439516

Have a pleasant day!

Regards,

Nayan

I keep finding more: copying something from inside commented code (for emails targeting Outlook for Windows) results in pasting a closing tag and the end tag for that commented code and nothing that was copied.

Similar problem with Preview in browser and Live, intermittently, on my MacBook Pro Intel macOS Ventura 13.7.6 (22H625) only instead of the spinning ‘beach ball’ Dreamweaver abruptly quits.

Sloppy update by Adobe who apparently treats Dreamweaver as an abandoned child instead of a valuable App that many of us have relied upon for a long time. They can do better.

The question is, “Will Adobe fix and improve Dreamweaver for Intel and M1 Macs?"
