Issues with importing sbsar files UE 5.2

Hello,

Have been trying to use the new substance plug-in to import some sbsar files to Unreal 5.2.1
I'm getting issues where the file will initially import correctly, but I will reimport the file at some point and this breaks the file.
Everytime I try and import that same sbsar file, it fails to import.
Every new sbsar file exported from the original substance designer node graph also fails to import to unreal. New graphs import fine.

@Shwetha23063442qtvs Hello, I'm having the same issues and would also just like an update on when the update will be releasing?

Hi, we are currently working on updating the Substance engine to v9 in the Unreal Engine plugin and that should fix the issue you have mentioned here. These changes will be available soon in the marketplace.

Is there any updated ETA on this fix? Having the same issues with importing .sbsar files (from Substance Designer) into my Unreal Project (Unreal 5.3). It just fails to create and leaves an sbsar file that crashes Unreal when I try to delete it.

A tentative timeline for the Substance engine v9 update is mid-October.

Thanks for clarifying.

Is there a timeline we can follow or estimated timeline for when this might be released?

Really love the new tools, but I need to know if they’ll be usable for my team when we come to active development before I can put them in our pipeline.

Hi @LizzieArt and @yuez48595852 , it looks like this is occuring because the Substance Engine used by the plugin has not been updated to use the latest V9 version. Because of this, the latest batch of new parameters released in Designer (spline and path) may not be copatible with this version of the Substance plugin in UE5. We're planning to release an engine update in the next verison of the plugin (5.3).

After playing around with this all weekend, it looks like it's because certain parameters are being exposed that unreal doesn't like.

Is there a list of uncompatible parameters that unreal 5.2 can't use anywhere?

Does the unreal substance plug-in support the new spline and path nodes yet?
