Substance 3D for Unity 3.9.0 to 3.10.0 upgrade broken in Unity 2022 LTS

Hello,

The 3.9.0 plugin in was working great with Unity LTS 2022. Made the mistake of hitting the Update button and now the susbstance engine won't initialize.

Error message is:

Fail to load substance engine: ~\Assets\Adobe\Substance3DForUnity\Runtime\Plugins\sbsario.dll

I've tried delete Library, uninstall entire Adobe folder, re-install etc, always now met with that error.

Is there a way to rollback to v3.9.0?

Or a workaround for this error?

Thanks.

Just a heads up: I've submitted the plugin package to the asset store. The new update v3.10.1 should be available soon.

We were able to reproduce this issue on our end. Your insights helped with the debug process, so thanks for that. We are currently fixing this issue and will submit a new package to the asset store soon. Please stay tuned.

I ran Dependencies on sbsario.dll - perhaps this is the problem? It's trying to link to the debug versions of the VC runtime.

Thanks for investigating. Completely stopped working, yes.

I don't really have any further information - just that error message. My complete guess is there is a dll dependency missing. Has a new dependency been introduced in the 3.10.0 version that needs to included? If I were investigating this I would try setting up a clean PC image, install only Unity 2022 LTS (with default packages only) and the Substance plug-in - then hopefully you should see what I'm seeing.

In the meantime could you please provide a 3.9.0 rollback version link?

Hi, we tested the latest plugin from the asset store on our end and couldn't reproduce the issues. Has the plugin completely stopped working? Are you not able to even load and modify sbsar assets? Is there any information you could share with us to help reproduce this issue on our end?

I second that, I am using Unity HDRP 2022.3.16 and getting the same error ~\Assets\Adobe\Substance3DForUnity\Runtime\Plugins\sbsario.dll
Please advice for a fix or a link to v3.9.0.

Thank you!
