Direct Section tool

@kayla_7936 are you still having issues with the direct selection tool? If so, try resetting the Preferences. 

Illustrator's preference files can sometimes become corrupted, or settings can get inadvertently changed in a way that causes unexpected behavior. Resetting them forces Illustrator to rebuild these files from scratch, returning the program to its default, "clean" state.

Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/Browser you're using, if this happens when launching Illustrator on the Web in an Incognito Browser window or a different web browser and a small screen recording of the problem, so I can better assist you?
