P: 14.2 Crop tool does not live update in Soft Proofing mode

I just upgraded to 14.2 and am already regretting it, just found a new major bug. On M1 MacbookPro, when using the crop tool, it works as expected with both GPU disabled, and when NOT in Soft Proofing mode. As soon as you enter Soft Proofing and use the crop tool, it does not update live like it used to, you have to re-crop by basically cropping "blind" as the display does not update until you let go of the mouse, making it 100% unusable. I was about to downgrade my catalog and lose a bunch of work, but thankfully I realized that it is only broken in Soft Proofing mode now, so at least I can crop when it's off, in 13.x this used to not be this way, crop would work normally in any mode! Please fix this bug in the next update, I really, really hate it when things that used to work just break for no reason!

Ok now I just tried to do some masking in Soft Proofing mode, totally broken there too, moving sliders result on 30+ second beach balls to update on screen. Total Fail Adobe, I have to now pull the old lightroom and downgrade my catalog back to 13.5.1!

Greetings all,

A new update for Adobe Photography Products has been released.  The April updates contain an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

Thanks! While I have your ear, the ability to change to a custom background color in Library/Develop instead of just having to choose between White / Light Gray, Medium Gray etc... like in photoshop would be amazing. The main reason I work in Soft Proofing Mode is the ability to choose 80/90/95% white!

Thanks, hopefully this gets fixed in the next update! I do almost all my work in soft proofing (i use the 90% background to get exposure of flat white walls evened out, so not being able to crop or use any masking tools with Soft Proof on makes LR unusable) Thankfully I was able to get my 13.51 catalog back from Time Machine, but I had to re-build my entire previews file overnight!

I am able to replicate this on my M1 mac and have logged a bug with the Classic team to investigate.
