This post is applicable to Lightroom Classic. ETAs for tethered support for specific cameras are not available. Tethered Capture is a feature of Lightroom Classic that allows the direct connection of your camera to the Lightroom desktop environment. Images are imported into your Lightroom catalog as they are captured via the connected camera. New camera support for reading the raw files is generally added quickly after a camera is released by its manufacturer. New camera support can be verified here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html. Tethered support for a particular camera model normally follows a version or two after the raw file support. Adobe relies on the manufacturer’s (Nikon & Canon) SDK (Software Development Kit) to facilitate the tethering of your camera to Lightroom. The timing of the release of a manufacturer’s support via their SDK greatly affects the time to release for tethered support. In additi
When presented with a New Post screen in the Adobe Community, you are given three options for Conversation Type: Discussion, Bug, and Idea. If you were searching in Discussions, the New Post window will default to Discussions. If you are searching in Bugs, the New Post window will default to Bugs and likewise for Ideas. Many customers instinctually report problems they are experiencing as “Bugs”. It is natural to think that a problem you are having might be a bug. A bug is defined, for our purposes, as “something in the software that is not functioning as it was designed to function”. Interpreting whether a behavior is a bug or not is not always easy, however. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider posting first to Discussions rather than jumping straight to reporting in Bugs: Most items reported as Bugs are not actual bugs. In a typical group of reported bugs, only about 3 out of 25* bugs reported turn out to be actual bugs. Of those, typically 2 ou
Bugs should only be reported for the latest or current version of Lightroom Classic. If you believe you have a bug, it must be verified on the latest version of Classic. New bug reports will not be accepted for older versions of the software. If you believe you have encountered a bug, it is important to first search the existing bugs to see if your issue and a possible solution or workaround have already been reported. If so, please add to that thread. If not, it may be prudent to start a new thread.Greater than 90% of the bugs reported are not actually bugs. Before starting a new thread, please read:P: Do I post in Discussions or Bugs? When logging a new bug report, it's required by the Lightroom Classic team for the information in the report to include steps to reproduce the bug experience. Once we can reproduce an issue, then we can start to investigate a fix. Bug reports without reproduction steps will be moved to discussions. If, after some troubleshooti
Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow. What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. There is no advantage to creating a second request for any existing feature request. One request per thread! When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on a single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, a moderator may ask you to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. In the event there remain multiple requests on a thread, the first item requested will be the arbiter of where the thread will be cross-referenced or merged. Describe how the featu
Preset Masking: Apply Presets Non-Destructively to Specific ParametersThe ProblemLightroom presets currently apply to the entire image and overwrite all settings — making it impossible to combine multiple presets selectively. This creates real friction in certain workflows.A concrete example from my own practice: when I want to apply my black-and-white preset to a color-graded image, I have to export a JPEG first, re-import it, and then apply the B&W preset — otherwise it wipes out all my color work. This roundabout workaround degrades image quality and breaks the non-destructive editing philosophy Lightroom is built on.The IdeaAllow presets to be applied as parameter masks — meaning a preset could be scoped to affect only a defined subset of parameters (e.g., tone curve, HSL, B&W mix) without touching the rest of the edit. How It Would HelpCombine presets freely: apply a color grade from one preset and a grain/vignette look from another, without either overwriting the other. Hi,Problem with LrC sync. The LrC/Preferences/Lr Sync tab shows Sync Activity list of tens of rows. If sync is paused and then resumed, the process goes on all the time (several days now), but no sync photos can be found nowhere on my MacStudio, Cloud or ext.discs. Managed to sync one collection of 30 photos. After that problem arouse. How to stop the process and empty the Sync Activity list? Can anybody help?Kerttukaarin
Hi Community,I’m experiencing severe performance issues with Lightroom. The app is extremely slow, barely usable, while all other Adobe Suite apps run smoothly on my system.I’ve tried restarting the app, change settings, edit on my SSD but the issue persists. I haven’t made any recent changes to my setup that would explain this. I use Windows 11, release 15.2.1 and Camera Raw 18.2.2Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance for your help!
LRC becomes very slow, unresponsive, and laggy shortly after launching. This problem was discussed on the previous forum extensively, where many users from Mac and Windows platforms reported it. Apparently, there were several different causes for the problem, as some users were able to fix it by following diverse suggestions, which did not work for other users. I am one of the unlucky users who tried all suggested fixes and could not solve the problem or find its cause. Unfortunately, a couple of the threads were marked as Resolved (or Answered) and the discussions stopped. I have been trying every new version of LRC as they become available, but in my case the problem persists and actually becomes worse with versions 15.2 or the previous one, 15.1.1. So, I am back to version 15.1, which at least lets me work for about 30 minutes before the program becomes essentially unresponsive. My question is, will this problem ever be fixed by Adobe?
I have updated the LR to version 15.3, and since that update I cannot sync the edits across multiple photos with auto sync on while using Smart Previews to edit. Some things, like applying a preset works but adjusting exposure, shadows etc do not propagate through the rest of the images… If I do edit while on library module it will work. This works fine with the source files connected and when LR isn’t using smart previews… also lightroom is slower to apply presets etc than the previous versionHow do you fix this?
I have also seen a slowdown in Lightroom Classic 15.3.If I leave LR open and step away from the computer, the system will go in sleep mode. Usually moving / clicking the mouse or hitting the Enter key will wake it up. I just started 2 days ago to use Lightroom (after being away for a while) I had to cycle power / reboot the system 2 times to gain control again. The normal “wake up” steps did not work.Anybody else see this affect?Windows 11 Home, Lightroom Classic 15.3
Hello Adobe team, I am posting here because I am unable to resolve a persistent Lightroom Classic ↔ Lightroom (cloud) synchronization issue after multiple troubleshooting attempts, and I would appreciate guidance from an engineer or someone who can escalate this if needed. ## Subscription contextI have been an Adobe photography subscriber continuously since approximately 2017, originally through the standalone Lightroom mobile subscription purchased via Google Play. In June 2023, I deliberately migrated to the **Creative Cloud Photography plan with 1 TB** specifically to gain the bidirectional synchronization between Lightroom (cloud) and Lightroom Classic - that capability was the entire reason for the migration, since I wanted to keep editing on a desktop in Classic while having all assets and edits accessible on mobile and on the web. Reliable two-way sync is, for my workflow, the core value of the plan. ## Why I am only now setting up the full Classic ↔ Cloud bridgeI want to addres
Hi I purchase Light room 2022 downloaded on my old computer had to replace my PC and upgrade to windows , can not transfer light room , can you help with taht please , i down loaded the app, i can not even sign in to it
I exported 479 photos to a folder with “Add to This Catalog” selected. The export proceeded as expected but the operation to add the photos to the catalog was painfully slow. It was taking 4-10 seconds for each image. During the time to add the photos to the catalog all other importing operations are frozen. During the extended add photos operation LrC is consuming about 7-10% of CPU. The rate at which photos were added to the catalog is much slower than other operations that add photos to the catalog.LrC 15.3Win11
I applied Denoise to 115 files by selecting the files, select Autosync, the clicking the check box on Denoise. After all files complete Denoise, I again selected the same 115 photos, select Autosync, then uncheck denoise. The process starts and a status bar appears labeled “Removing Denoise on 115 photos”. The status bar progresses but after a short time stops. Checked the photos and find the first 21 have had denoise removed. Did “Optimize Catalog...” and then restart. Tried to denoise the remaining 94 photos. Same result as before but this time it denoised another 21 photos before hanging up. Restart, the did the same process to remove denoise on the remaining 73. This time it removed denoise from 18 before hanging up. LrC is unable to remove Denoise from the entire set of selected photos. LrC 15.3, Win11
Lightroom Classic should provide the ability to define different default presets depending on the origin of a file. Specifically, it would be very useful to set separate default settings for DNG files created by DxO PureRAW, without these settings being automatically applied to files coming from other external applications such as Photoshop, the Nik Collection, or other editing plugins.A more granular control based on file source or processing origin would significantly improve workflow management, reduce errors, and minimize the need for manual corrections.
For years we had the filter toolbar above the strip view where I can directly filter by flagged, label, whatever. Now, this toolbar is just visible for 1 sec after starting LR and then it’s gone.Even if I select “Default Columns” from the filter, it stays empty - and only the “Flagged” or “Rating” selection in the filters dropdown shows a filter (but only the selected one)
Hello, I haven't been able to find an answer on how to change the default values of the sliders in the presets within the masks. I can only find the option to “Save current settings as new default”I don't want to create a new preset default. Also, how can I delete or rename a mask presets? Regards
I am having trouble accessing about five years worth of digital catalog photographs through Adobe Lightroom. My problem started I think when either my macOS system software updated or adobe Lightroom updated its software. Originally, I couldn’t find these photos anywhere on my hard drive so I had to retrieve them through Time Machine on my Mac. Once I located these catalogues I copied them over from Time Machine. I am unable to open them through Lightroom. I keep getting this warning. Can you help me with the ability to open my Lightroom photo catalogs again? And what does it mean when the LrC warning says “does not allow files to be created within it.”?
There seems to be a serious incompatibility between Mac OS Sequoia version 15.5 and Lightroom Classic v13-3. I received a message telling me to go to Systems Settings-Privacy and Security - Full Disk Access to enable Full Disk Access for Adobe Lightroom Classic, which I have done but the problem remains. This needs serious attention from Adobe and Apple. I have seen posts from professional users who are unable to work!

Feature Request: Add Open EXR support to lightroom classicCould we please add open exr support to lightroom classic as an export file format. This would be greatly appreciated in the visual effects industry, that require the .exr file format as the default image intermediate format.Example use caseWhen working with multi camera scan data, either from a lightstage rig or a photogrammetry scan, we are provided with thousands of raw images to process. The target output image is usually a 16bit zip compressed .exr file to use for texture reprojection, or in compositing software for further processing. To create the target .exr file requires multiple steps using Photoshop scripts (slow), 3rd party software, or custom compiled command line tools such as OpenImage IO. Whatever the process used, it takes valuable time away from doing the actual work its required for. It would be significantly more convenient to export a .exr file type directly from lightroom classic. Thank you!
Hi,after the latest update to v15 of LR for Windows, the behaviour of the cropping tool changed. It's really annoying: It is very difficult to create a selection in portrait format with the mouse in this case. Simply dragging diagonally downwards is no longer sufficient – see my screen video here:https://youtu.be/NYfgYOV3IXE Any idea to get back the old behaviour – not by using the previous version of LR 😉 Thanks!mycc
Introducing Assisted Culling (Early Access) in Lightroom Classic. For providing feedback for Lightroom Desktop, click here. TL;DR – Assisted Culling is getting faster, more powerful, and more accurate as we head to GA. If you tried in October 2025, we urge you to try the new version and give us feedback – especially for wedding & portrait photographers. We’re eager to hear your feedback! Assisted Culling has received several updates since Early Access launched in October 2025. If you tried it then, here's what's new: April 2026 Significantly improved handling of shallow depth-of-field for photos – a major customer ask. Images with intentional background blur are now more reliably recognized and kept rather than rejected as out-of-focus. We’ve retrained the “Reject model” so it has more accurate identification of reject-worthy images. Additionally, an image can now be flagged under multiple reject reasons simultaneously: Exposure Issues: includes a sensitivity slider so you
