The June 2026 update to Lightroom Classic (v15.4) adds a new Faces panel for people-focused culling, automatic duplicate detection, keyword sync across the Lightroom ecosystem, and more precise subject selection when masking. These updates help photographers handle large shoots and organize catalogs with less manual effort. What’s NewLightroom Classic v15.4 is built to help you move through large shoots with more speed and confidence. The new Faces panel in Assisted Culling brings a people-first approach to selection, surfacing Eye Focus and Eyes Open scores so you can instantly identify your best frames. New auto duplicate detection scans your catalog for exact matches and neatly groups them into stacks, making cleanup far less manual. Masking also gets a boost with more precise subject detection, helping you separate subjects from complex backgrounds with cleaner, faster results. On the organization side, AI-powered metadata filters and Smart Collections make it easier to sort, find,
When presented with a New Post screen in the Adobe Community, you are given three options for Conversation Type: Discussion, Bug, and Idea. If you were searching in Discussions, the New Post window will default to Discussions. If you are searching in Bugs, the New Post window will default to Bugs and likewise for Ideas. Many customers instinctually report problems they are experiencing as “Bugs”. It is natural to think that a problem you are having might be a bug. A bug is defined, for our purposes, as “something in the software that is not functioning as it was designed to function”. Interpreting whether a behavior is a bug or not is not always easy, however. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider posting first to Discussions rather than jumping straight to reporting in Bugs: Most items reported as Bugs are not actual bugs. In a typical group of reported bugs, only about 3 out of 25* bugs reported turn out to be actual bugs. Of those, typically 2 ou
Bugs should only be reported for the latest or current version of Lightroom Classic. If you believe you have a bug, it must be verified on the latest version of Classic. New bug reports will not be accepted for older versions of the software. If you believe you have encountered a bug, it is important to first search the existing bugs to see if your issue and a possible solution or workaround have already been reported. If so, please add to that thread. If not, it may be prudent to start a new thread.Greater than 90% of the bugs reported are not actually bugs. Before starting a new thread, please read:P: Do I post in Discussions or Bugs? When logging a new bug report, it's required by the Lightroom Classic team for the information in the report to include steps to reproduce the bug experience. Once we can reproduce an issue, then we can start to investigate a fix. Bug reports without reproduction steps will be moved to discussions. If, after some troubleshooti
Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow. What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. There is no advantage to creating a second request for any existing feature request. One request per thread! When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on a single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, a moderator may ask you to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. In the event there remain multiple requests on a thread, the first item requested will be the arbiter of where the thread will be cross-referenced or merged. Describe how the featu
Images from a synced Lightroom Classic (12.3) collection appear distorted (vertically squashed) when viewed in the generated web gallery. This is consistent across browsers, devices, OS (but working primarily on Mac 13.3.1 and iOS 16.2). I saw that there was a similar discussion from June 2022 but the proposed solution (check the metadate projection field for equirectangular) did not resolve the issue. Interestingly, when I access the collection on a mobile device, the images are distorted in the collection there (not just a generated web gallery). However when I hard press on an image (a gesture that typically shows before/after states) the original unedited image briefly appears (as expected) but when it pops back to the current state, the distortion is gone. For background, these images were shot on a Sony a7iii with the aspect ratio accidentally set to 16:9 (versus the native sensor 3:2). Once imported I batch reset the crop to include the whole sensor captu

I was enjoying myself until two days ago when I upgraded LR Classic to 15.4.1 (which created a new catalogue). Since then it has been a world of pain.It works fine for a little while. After some time, I realise that none of the titles, captions and keywords I’ve been entering for 15 minutes is being registered. Seems fine while I’m typing them, keyword suggestions would come up, and no warning when I press Enter. But when I return to them, they are all blank. LR frequently freezes, requiring me to shut the program every half an hour or so. Shutting the program takes many minutes (spinning rainbow wheel). Often after shutting the program, I cannot open it again (icon bounces in the Dock for a bit, then nothing happens, not even a start screen). I need to restart my computer.Any suggested fixes? Or should I downgrade to the previous version of LR Classic (if that is even possible)? My specs are:Lightroom Classic 15.4.1 MacBook Pro with M1 OS = Tahoe 26.5.2 16 GM memory 880 GB of disk s
When multiple videos are selected, Edit Capture Time incorrectly shows the message for a single photo selected, rather than a message that indicates the capture times of the other videos will be adjusted by the same amount as the first: When multiple photos and at least one video is selected, the message incorrectly states that videos will not be adjusted: But in these cases, the problem is just with the message being displayed. Clicking Change All correctly adjusts the capture times of the other videos by the same amount as the most-selected photo/video. Tested on LR 15.4.1 / Mac OS 26.4.1.
I am trying to tether my Sony A7V to Lightroom Classic on my MacBook Pro. When I try Lightroom just gets stuck trying to detect my camera. I was able to connect my camera using Imaging Edge Desktop so I know it's not an issue between my camera and computer or my USB-C cable. Both my camera and Lightroom are completely up to date. I’ve tried following every tutorial I can find but I haven't found any specific to using the A7V. My menu titles are all slightly different and in different spots than older versions of the camera so I’m not 100% sure I have everything set up right on my camera. Since it is working with Imaging Edge though, I assume I am. I’ve also tried deleting Lightroom Classic preferences on my Mac which I saw in a few posts with similar situations but the files I was supposed to delete did not exist. Could it be something to do with my camera being a relatively new release? I have only started being able to open RAW files in adobe in the last couple months becaus
Lightroom Classic version 15.4Mac OS 26, Version 26.5.1Mac Studio M4 MaxPrior to the latest upgrade to Lightroom Classic I was backing up my catalog to my Synology drive. I now get the unable to write to drive error, check permissions and available space on the drives. I can backup the file locally on my MAC and then copy that over to the Synology drive. So it does not seem as though permissions is the issue. Have 16TB of storage on the Synology and 782 GB free on a 1 TB SSD on the Mac. Only started when after the latest upgrade to Lightroom Classic.
When I paste settings threw Auto Sync. The AI processing will start. After while if it is multiple pictures like 30+ it will get stuck on Information "AI processing is in progress for this photo. Editing is temporarily unavailable." Even though the progress has already ended. So no proces is running. Obviously the photo can not be edited so I need to restart lightroom. Can you add some function to stop the proces on the photo itself? Otherwise I can not do anything with it.
I got this error after upgrade to LrC 15.0. Update 15.0.1 not fix this issue. "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to this photo." My photos file are OK, restart LrC will able to edit again, but it will happen again sometimes after I sync the photo setting form one photo to another one. OS is macOS 15.7.2.
Assisted Culling is now generally available in Lightroom ClassicTL; DR: Assisted Culling has graduated from Early Access to General Availability. It gives you a fast, reviewable first pass on large shoots: it surfaces your strongest frames and sets aside the obvious rejects, so you spend less time comparing near-duplicates. You stay in control: review everything, adjust the thresholds, and override any call. If you tried it back in October 2025, it's substantially more accurate now, especially for wedding, event, group, and portrait work. We'd love for you to give it another look and tell us what you think in this thread. What it does Open an album or collection, run a cull, and Assisted Culling analyzes your images against the criteria you choose: Subject Sharpness, Eye Sharpness, Eyes Open, exposure, and more. It marks Selects and Rejects, shows you why behind every call, and leaves the final decision to you. How far it's come since Early Access February 2026: Expanded from individ

Is it possible to create a Searchable Prompt in Lightroom Classic to select all files with specified maximum dimensions or file size?
The Denoise box the noise more aggressive and adds a lot of sharpness. How can I gently reduce the noise? We didn't have this problem before
When importing images (I shoot Nikon D800 and D850 with Nikon lenses), lightroom will not identify the lens correctly. The import shows up as a generic lens:import will be 24.0-120.0 mm f/40 Correct is:Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VRThere are a small amount of images that have the correct information in the catalog. If I look at the EXIF data from a sample of two files, one that is correct and one with the generic name, both have the correct information. HOWEVER, comparing the xmp files is not. The DSC_9863.xmp file is the one that works and the DSC_9729.xmp is the one that is the generic name. This has been a pain in my backside for a LONG time and I hope someone has some suggestions.
This post applies to Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom Ecosystem products. Camera Raw feedback can be found here. Generative Remove makes it easier to remove unwanted objects and distractions with a simple gesture, even on complex backgrounds. For more accurate results, be sure to include the object's shadow in your selection and/or expand its size. Detect Objects uses AI to find the objects underneath a brushed area. The masked areas will now appear larger than the Early Access version of this feature. You can also circle objects for quicker selection now. We have also updated the spot selection experience to make it easier to manage variations, switch the fill type, refine the selection area, or re-generate as needed. Batch updating is also now supported for Generative Remove spots. Try out the latest updates and share your feedback with us here. Please also include the following details in your post: App versi
Hello, I often use masking to brighten up a place in the photo, especially for portrait pictures. I always start by selecting the outline of the place I want, except that unfortunately Lightroom Classic doesn’t offer (or maybe a secret function?) to be able to fill the inside of the selection. Because it would save valuable minutes on retouching since I’m not a fan of the automatic skin detection tool. (I often have strange effects on the contours of faces, arms, hands when the background is not the same color. Which is understandable when the colors are a bit similar). I can take about 15 minutes or more for some masks to fill the inside. And even by removing the gradual outline of the brush, to fill the inside and go faster, I often end up with small unpainted spots (setting the exposure to +2.00 to check the entire mask). This option would allow me and could allow us Lightroom users a huge saving of editing time in photography. And as a professional photographer, this time saving is
Lightroom Classic 15.4.1, Windows. Cloud sync has been stuck for weeks: a batch of synced photos sits in "Loading" and the count never drops. While that happens, the Metadata/Keywording panel spins and won't show metadata when I navigate between photos (works briefly after opening the catalog, then breaks).Catalog is fine — keywords exist and I can filter by them, they just won't render in the panel. Synced images were in Mobile Downloads.lrdata inside OneDrive; I set a local path in Preferences → Lightroom Sync but the existing images never moved. No "All Sync Error" collection on the web.Already tried: reset preferences, rebuild previews, reinstall, resolve conflicts via "Overwrite settings", download OneDrive files locally. Haven't clicked "Delete synced data" since it warns it removes cloud metadata. Is this a known server-side sync stall? Any safe way to clear the stuck "Loading" queue and move synced images out of OneDrive without losing keywords? Thanks!
I am experiencing a repeatable startup failure in Lightroom Classic 15.4.1 on macOS Tahoe 26.5.2. I'm seeing a very strange Lightroom Classic issue and would appreciate any ideas.Lightroom Classic: 15.2.1OS: Windows 11SymptomsThe photos definitely exist in the catalog. I can find them under All Photographs. I can edit them normally. Show in Explorer opens the correct local folder. If I try to import the same file again, Lightroom correctly reports:"This photo has already been imported."However, when I select that folder in the Folders panel:Lightroom displays "No Photos in Folder". The folder badge still shows the correct number of photos. The status bar at the bottom says 0 photos.Example:Folder 2010 shows 6 photos. Subfolders 07 and 09 each show 1 photo. Selecting any of these folders displays no photos at all.Additional observationsGo to Folder in Library from a photo found in All Photographs doesn't jump to the folder. Instead Lightroom starts "Analyzing Photos" and appears to hang indefinitely. Running Synchronize Folder produced this internal error: UNIQUE constraint failed:A
A while back I wanted to make more space on an external HD and foolishly deleted 5 years worth of travel photos, thinking that I had copies elsewhere. Apparently not 🤔.Since then I’ve relied on previews of those deleted originals, sometimes upscaling them to produce full-screen sized digital memories.I’ve been reluctant to delete old catalogs, thinking that the current catalog references them when displaying previews of the deleted original photos. Those old catalogs now occupy Squillagigs of drive space. Can I safely delete them and still be able to access all previews?
I’m on a MacBook Pro M5, system Tahoe 26.1 I just moved the LR catalog to an external drive. The picture files were duplicated onto the same external drive. When I open the catalog, it can’t find any pictures, so I show it where the local picture files are. The pictures all show up, but the stacks are expanded and I the stacking submenu is greyed out.
