I have Lightroom 3 on a newer Windows 7 PC. Two internal hard drives. My Image files and lightroom catalogs are on the C drive. I would like to backup the lightroom catalog on the other internal drive "E". When I get to the catalog backup dialog, it only goves me option on the C drive - It doe snot navigate to "E" or any external drive. It forces me to backup on the C drive. I can nevigate to other drives everywhere else in Lightroom e.g. folders. Please help.

Just to check my understanding of the issue.....when the backup dialog kicks in you should be able to see a 'Choose' button which enables choosing a different drive or folder than the default location. Assuming you see this, is the problem that when you select Choose the resulting "Browse for files or folders" dialog box does not show anything other than the stuff in your User folder on the C drive?

If so, this problem seems to crop up quite frequently (usually a Win7 issue), and can be overcome simply by typing in the full path to the required folder on your E drive, i.e. e:\My Stuff\Lightroom Backups Folder in the folder entry box at the bottom of the dialog box.

If this is not the problem, could you expand a little about what actually happens when you attempt backup?
