P: Does not export all selected images

With Lightroom 6 on Windows 7 I have exactly the same problem as described at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photosh...
with Lightroom 5.4.

I select a number of images and use the Export dialog, exporting to JPEG. After the export is finished I get a dialog box saying "Some export operations were not performed. The file could not be opened ()", and then lists the file names of the images that were not exported.

If I delete the exported JPEGs and try again a different subset of the selected images gets exported. On average around 20 out of 70 selected images don't get exported.

Watching the directory where the images are being exported with a file viewer while the export is in progress I can see that the images that are later shown in the "not exported" dialog box list are in fact being created in the target directory but are quickly deleted.

I have had one example of exporting of a single image failing with exactly the same error message.

I have never had this problem with version 5. I just ran an export of 126 images using Lightroom 5.6 which completed successfully, as has always been the case with version 5 and before that with version 4.

Which method did not work?

It doesn't help for my errors either. I always export to a different destination folder.

That did not worked.

Still no fix from Adobe.

Adobe Lightroom is waisting my time.
I have to do the export in 3 or 4 times.

Some notes to intermediary files: if the processing of export files is done in the destination folder it could happen that other processes, e.g. also indexing, interfere the processing by accessing the intermediate files.

Some suggestion: why don't do processing in a temp folder from the current user. There no indexing will be done and normally the only process accessing the file is Lightroom. If processing is finished the resulting file can savely moved to the destination folder.

This should avoid all access failures of Lightroom.

Best, Andreas.

I get this error every time I export large batch since I upgraded to LR 6.

I have to wait until the export is complete before I leave or go to sleep.

What a waste of my time. I have large export to do at least 4-5 times a week.

It's a shame that this problem is still not fixed.

Haven't had the time to test it. Also, first batch of export what I did with LR 6.1 without poking around in the same folder actually produced one completely white jpg image out of 70.

But limiting the file size to very large number in export module seems to avoid the issue.

BTW, for jpg browsing I am using FastPictureViewer 1.9

So far I will just keep on using LR 5.7, which works as it should.

Good luck with the bugfix and keep up the good work. I understand that sometimes the commercial pressure can introduce some unwanted side-effects in the development side, keep up the good work but please produce fix as soon as possible 🙂

If you skip step three, does it work?

I can consistently make LR 6.1 fail on the photo export process. The procedure is as follows:

1. Start with reasonably large batch of files to export ~50+
2. Export all to jpg, with resize, sharpen applied
3. While the export is in progress, I use jpg viewer to browse in the same folder where the jpg files are exported trying to browse into the appearing files
4. The end result is almost always the LR throws up error message "Some export operations could not be completed", following the list of files which were not opened. See the screenshot below:

I hope you guys are planning to release the fix asap because it is as critical error as it can be.

To update, we are able to reproduce this and are working on a fix. In the meantime, if you are exporting JPEGs, one workaround you can try is to check the "Limit File Size To:" option (and set the limit high assuming size is not actually a concern). This should avoid the path that's causing the second update.

I am having the same problem. Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I don't use bridge or an image viewer.
