P: Edit in Photoshop sends it to the Photoshop Beta, not 2023. No option to choose.

Hoping for some help here. I am on a PC and have the latest versions of Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. I wanted to download and try the new Photoshop Beta so I downloaded it from the Adobe Creative Cloud and it installed fine. BUT - when I use Lightroom and choose EDIT IN - ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 2023 it opens the BETA version. It does not give me an option to choose WHICH Photoshop version I want to use. Uninstalling the Beta basically kills the ability to send an image from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop at all and the only way to get things back is to uninstall the beta and then uninstall Photoshop CC 2023 THEN reinstall Photoshop. I'd love to play with the beta and be able to choose which version of Photoshop I want to use when sending images from Lightroom Classic.

I've seen some videos where the option to select which version of photoshop you want to use is selectable from a dropdown menu but this was on a Mac and not a PC. Any help is appreciated!

As a workaround just use the Export dialog box with setting as in the screenshot. It will open you image in photoshop or PS beta whichever you choose. Once you finish in PS just close and save as usual. All you have to do is just Right Click on the folder in Lightroom to Sync that image back. or if you select ADD TO CATALOG check box it will do it automatically. A useful temporary workaround

I’m seeing the same problem. Generative fill no longer works with PS Beta 24.7. It wants me to upgrade to version 25.0.

Using PS Beta 24.7 worked for a while but now it won't use generative fill unless you update to 25.0. BUT LR Classic won't export to it without the bug identified earlier. Any other workarounds? I love it...but the error and delay is not fun.

@Basher_77

Thanks for the info that removing of the preferences has helped.

At my experience it wasn't necessary in the past.

Go to your Adobe account for the software updates. Go to the Beta section, and ‘download’ version 24.7. It’s a step backwards from the latest version 25.0. That action fixed my issue. Also, if I want to use 2023 vs 2023 Beta, I be sure to launch PS 2023 Beta before I sent the LR image to PS. These steps worked for me, and it appears that you have the same issue. Good luck!

I'm having the same issue with the recent update of PS Beta. I cannot open any of my LR photos into PS Beta which is what I have been primarily using. I kept getting a popup saying that I needed to update in order to keep using the creative fill feature, but now it's not working.  Seems like a lot of people are having a similar issue with the new update.

Finally got PS beta to work. Uninstalled PS beta AND removed preferences, reinstalled beta V24.7 and can now bridge from LRC to PS beta . Every time previously I kept preferences when unistalling and kept getting errors. THANK YOU!

PS V24.6

PS Beta V24.7

LRC V12.4

Thank you for the response. Reverting back to PS 2023 Beta 24.7 worked for me. In LR under Preferences, the PS 2023 is a selectable option once again. To get my image into 2023 PS Beta, I just be sure to have the Beta version already open, and it goes in directly.
