P: Folder Search fails on Folder Names with diacritical marks

Hallo zusammen!

Leider funktioniert in LR Classic (hier 11.3.1.

Hubertus

"Maybe there is a problem on the catalog"

I think you're encountering a different problem than the bug reported fixed in this thread, and it may be specific to your catalog.  The problem doesn't occur in my LR 11.5 / Mac OS 12.6:

With that bug reported and fixed in this thread, typing a letter with a diacritical mark (e.g. é or ü) in the Filter Folders box would fail to match a folder containing that mark (Soirée or Hügel).  But you're typing a string with no diacritical mark.

I verified that in LR 11.2 (which has this bug), "Soir" correctly matches the folder "Soirée.

Some troubleshooting steps to narrow down the issue and perhaps find a workaround or file an actionable bug report:

1. Try running LR in English -- does the problem happen then?  (Change Preferences > General > Language.)

2. While running LR in French, make a test catalog and import just the folder "6 Soirée" into it, using the Add option in the Import window (rather than Copy or Move).  Does the problem occur with that test catalog?

Maybe there is a problem on the catalog and not the soft ?

"My Lightroom classic is uptodate on macbook pro and still have this bug... "

Initial troubleshooting steps:

1. Do the menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste here the first ten lines so we can see exactly which versions you're running.

2. Post a screenshot of the Folders panel with the problem folder showing, and another screenshot of what happens when you type its name in the Filter Folders box.  For example:

Hello Rikk.

Do you know by accident whether the programmer want to work at the issue? Now we have LR 11.4.1 and the bug still exists.

Greetings, Hubertus

The Filter Folders box in the Folders panel doesn't correctly handle characters with diacritical marks. To reproduce:

1. In the Folders panel, do Create Folder Inside <folder> and name it "_ Hügel":

2. In the Filter Folders box, type "Hügel" and observe the new folder doesn't appear:

3. Similar behavior occurs for other diacritical marks, including á, ã, å.

Tested on LR 11.3.1 / Mac OS 12.4.
