P: Heal: Restore support for Clone/Heal when using Shift-Click and Changing size of brush

the tool diameter. when I shift-click, I can make retouches with the retouch tool, in a straight line from click 1 to 2 to 3 etc. Good for straight lines like cables etc. But I used to be able to change the diameter of the tool and still SHIFT-click, so I could erase a small pole to a larger reflection of the pole in the water. This does no longer work: it works for as long as I keep the same diameter, but no longer when I change the diameter.

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Photography products began rolling out Monday night, December 12th,  The updates contain a fix for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for your patience.

I see that same change in behavior too. I checked 10.4, 11.0, and 11.5, and they all worked as you described: After the first click, you could change the size of the circle, and shift-click would draw a straight line from the previous click to the current point, smoothly changing the size of the healing area:

With 12.0 and 12.0.1, if you change the size of the circle with the mouse wheel or keyboard shortcut, shift-click won't draw a line from the previous click.

As a workaround, you'll have to click again where you want the line to start.  You may have to do Tools > Tool Overlay > Never Show so you can click over the end of the previous line.

@johnrellis  This was a deliberate change at the 12.0 release but, in light of the discovered workaround and internal discussions, we are revisiting the behavior for the future. At this time it falls to as-designed. I am promoting it to Ideas based on that.
