P:In Crop tool, selecting "Original" and synching to photos of different original sizes doesn't work

I have a collection of photos, some are originals with a 2x3 ratio, and some derivatives with a 1x1 ratio. I am trying to reset the crop on all of them to "Original", both by selecting "Original" and hitting "Reset".

Example: If I highlight both photos, select the 2x3 file as my reference and sync, it will make the 1x1 into a 2x3, not keep the original ratio. Reverse happens when I select the 1x1 and sync. Unless this is a feature and not a bug, selecting Original apect ration/hitting Reset should flat out reset the cropping, not adopt the reference crop ratio. I could go to each photo and Reset, but I have 100+ photos, and this seems to be a bug.

I see the same behavior, following the precise steps in the screen recording. I observe similar behavior when clicking Original with Auto Sync on.  Steps to reproduce:

1. Import the two attached TIFFs.

2. Select 3x2.tif and go to Develop.

3. In the Crop tool, select 4 x 5.

4. In the filmstrip, select both photos, with 3x2 most-selected.

5. Toggle Auto Sync.

6. In the Crop tool, click Original. Observe that 1x1.tif has been cropped to 2 x 3.

The same behavior occurs with As Shot.

It's confusing that Auto Sync and Quick Develop have different behaviors with Original and As Shot.

I wasn't able to replicate this with these instructions.

If I am understanding correctly, a better method might be to go to Grid [ G ] and select all items and then use the Quick Develop Panel to reset the crop by choosing Original or As Shot.

Thanks for the note about Quick Develop. Here is a screen grab recording of it: https://imgur.com/a/CwQtCwb
