I just installed the lastest verison of Lightroom 3.4.1 and it has introduced a bug. when Library filters are enabled, the setting is lost when you leave the folder and then return. In the previous version, it remained set. Now it has to be reset each time you open the folder.

It's still happening to me (LR Classic), within the same folder, without changing folders, without restarting LR, during editing a batch of files. I can't exactly pinpoint when it occurs, possibly while working with 1:1 previews and changing between Grid and Develop modes? I have even seen a couple times setting Library Filter from Metadata (with custom fields) to None, and opening Metadata again, I can briefly see my custom fields set (and the locked padlock) and then it changes back to the defaults (Date, Camera, Lens).

Updates to Lightroom Classic, Camera Raw, and the Lightroom Ecosystem were released yesterday and contain a fix for this issue.  Please install the appropriate update and see if it solves this problem. You can read more about the updates here.

Thank you for your patience.

In the library module you have a filter option to see only those photos you'd like to see. You can lock these filters (right side top: 'the lock').
Often I want this: I want the filter to be remembered with the folder (in older versions of LR it used to work that way, not anymore unfortunately).

So, for example. In folder A I want to see only the 'yellow' labeled photos & in folder B I only want to see the 'picks'.
Now if I switch back and forth between these 2 folders I keep losing the filters. Everytime I come back to a folder I have to set the folders again.

Please make it so that the filter is locked NOT in general, but on the specific folder. That would be very helpful.

This was fixed in LR3 but whenever a flag filter is set the filter resets with every change of a folder...VERY frustrating.

If I read you correctly, this was a change in 3.0 (which some of us welcomed very much).

Look at File > Library Filters > Remember each source separately. Also there's a lock on the filter panel.

It's an intended change of behaviour that was introduced in 3.0 because users kept thinking they'd lost their photos when they returned to a folder that had a filter applied.

To get the old LR2 per-folder behaviour back, go to File menu > Library Filters and turn on Lock Filters and Remember Each Source's Filters Separately.
