Thank you, Ive decided to just ignore Photoshop until they fix the bug and I will use my other 2 external photo editors in the meantime.

@7411280 I have just encountered this problem. Is a "dash" regarded as a special character?  Every single folder of mine has a dash and its never been a problem.
I also dont want to uninstall LrC because I dont want to re-import every single photo +-400K and I dont want to battle with the settings again especially since I have just got everything working perfectly....until the latest update.  This is really annoying.  Adobe should be fixing things not breaking them 😉

What I did was uninstalled Lightroom classic 14.5 and installed 14.4 and no
you don’t have to reinstall all your photos. Until I get the bug fixed,
that’s what I’m doing and it works fine.

Use these programs on MacBook Pro MacOS sequoia version 15.6

Current updated Lightroom cc from version14.4 to latest version 14.5 Photoshop version 26.9 which was already updated as first.

When I try to transfer a raw file (C Raw version17.4) is not opening in photoshop version 26.9.  Photoshop opens but not the photo to work on. workspace stays empty.

In Lightroom CC raw file saved as psd. Tried now to import this again in lightroom cc and transferred to Photoshop which opened this file now in Photoshop. Could work on this but not returned to Lightroom when this file was saved. Updated file not visual in Lightroom CC. This way of working is of course not the way it should.

All settings etc were ok as I worked already for many years with.

Have deinstalled Photoshop version 26.9 as well Lightroom CC version 14.5

Next step first installed Photoshop first and installed Lightroom CC again. Situation with working is NOK and same as mentioned above.

Now switched off plug-ins one by one to verify if one of these were the cause of this problem. Result same as mentioned before.

Next step deleted Photoshop version 26.9 and Lightroom CC version 14.5 again and installed previous Photoshop version 26.8-1 and previous Lightroom CC version 14.4

Now everything works again as it should.

Based on this experience I will not update both programs till a new update is available, or the root cause is known.

Reading several forums, I noticed a few people have similar problems.

I got a reply that this is a bug. I had the same and in my case I had a 's in my filepath. Like for example foto's. I have changed it to fotos and now it is working fine.

Since updating to the August 2025 update of Lightroom Classic 14.5 yesterday, I have been unable to successfully use the right click, "edit in" Photoshop feature. Photoshop opens but the photos never show up.

Steps taken so far:

• Updated my MacOS
• Restarted Computer

• Uninstalled all CC applications, including manager
• Performed CC cleaner

• Restarted Computer again

• Reinstalled Creative Cloud Manager
• Reinstalled Photoshop, then Lightroom Classic
• Optimized Catalog, restarted Lightroom Classic

Any insight greatly appreciated!

Same here, I had foto's instead of fotos in my path. This solved the issue. Thanks for you support!

Reverting to the previous version of Lightroom fixed it for me. I don't have any apostrophes in the pathnames. Is that something that changed in the last version update?
