P: LrC v14.5.1 Copy Settings with the Modified subset does not set Crop correctly

Using the Copy Settings Subset option of modifed doesn't recognise the cropping if the image angle or aspect ratio haven't been modified.

@Sameer K @Srishti_Bali Sad to see this bug is still present in the 15.4 release.

LrC Ver 18.3 on a Win 11 Pro machine.

I created a Virtual Copy of a NEF image and converted it to B&W.  I reset the crop on the Virtual Copy.  I then exported the images to Evoto which created TIFF’s.

After the TIFF’s were updated in Evoto and exported back in LrC, I wanted to Sync the crop between the original TIFF and the B&W virtual copy.  I tried multiple times and it would not sync the crop.  I am able to successfully sync other edits from the Basic panel for instance, just not the crop.  I have Transform unchecked so that I can check Crop and have to be grayed-out.

I have synced Crop settings for years so it does appear that something is wrong.

@Sameer K  Is there a reason I can't see my own (this) post when viewing the bugs section. The only way I can get to it is via the notifications/post activity.

Images that have been cropped but keep their original aspect and angle aren't recognised as cropped when trying to copy the modified subset settings.

It's east to test:

In Develop select any image and perform a simple crop

Now choose Settings > Copy Settings (ctrl-shift-c)
Select the modified subset at the bottom of the window
Note crop doesn't get selected

Hi @ShootingPixelsAndy

Thanks for reporting this! To help us better understand what’s happening, could you share a few more details:

  • Which Lightroom version (and build number) are you using?

  • What’s your operating system and version?

  • Does this happen with all files or some specific ones?

This will help us test on our end and help you accordingly.

Regards,

Srishti

v14.5.1
Win 11 24H2
All files

I believe it's been happening since the feature was introduced, probably because there's never been an option to copy the crop region!
