P: (MacOS) LrC v15.6 Dialogue windows brighter

After updating from 15.5.1 to 15.6, the dialogue boxes are FAR brighter.  The medium grey has been replaced with much brighter elements.  I ended up rolling back to 15.5.1 because of this!

when will Adobe follow Mac’s dark mode?  And at least not make things BRIGHTER!

this interface won’t let me attach images?

On Mac but not Windows, the color scheme for both built-in and plugin dialogs has changed significantly, resulting in a more confusing, harder-to-read user interface.

    Questions:

    - Was this a deliberate change by the LR product manager?

    - If so, why wasn’t Windows Mac changed? The gratuitous differences makes it that much harder to build similar plugin UIs for the two platforms.

    - Do I need to go through all my plugins and adjust their dialogs for improved readability?

    - Or was the change inadvertent, and I should just wait for the next LR release?

I’ve attached a PDF with screenshots of four built-in and two plugin dialogs, from Mac LR 15.5.1 and LR 15.6. (Inserting images in forum posts is currently broken.)  I’ve evaluated these changes on my high-end calibrated Eizo display.

    - The backgrounds have changed from medium grey to very light grey and white.

    - The white background makes it hard to distinguish text edit fields from static text fields, so the user doesn’t know where she might input text.

    - Buttons and popup menus changed from black on white backgrounds to block on grey backgrounds and they lost their thin black borders, reducing their contrast.

    - The borders around edit fields are lighter, making it hard to see against a white background.

    - The fill color of radio buttons and checkboxes is grey, with very little difference between the enabled-unchecked and disabled-unchecked states, making it hard to distinguish disabled buttons and checkboxes.

    - The Any Crop plugin dialog that mimicked the color scheme of the Develop panel is now unreadable due to the check in background of popup menus.

Thanks for adding the screenshots. I’ve shared this with the team to verify, and investigate.

Hey, @DFleury14. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.

There haven't been any changes that should trigger this change. Could you post your screenshots by attaching a PDF? The issue with attaching images is known, and currently being worked up on.

    Thanks!

Also, check the Preferences > Interface panel to change the UI elements.
