P: Metadata browser's Smart Preview Status columns shows wrong counts

The Smart Preview Status column in the Library Filter bar's Metadata browser shows wrong counts.  To reproduce:

 

1. Start with a catalog containing many photos.

 

2. In All Photographs, do Expand All Stacks, select all the photos, and do Library > Previews > Discard Smart Previews.

 

3. Select the first 10 photos and do Library > Previews > Build Smart Previews.

 

4. Create a smart collection with the criterion "Has Smart Preview is true". Observe that the smart collection shows a count of 10.

 

5. Open the Metadata browser with the single column Smart Preview Status and select Has Smart Preview.

 

6. Observe that the count for the line Has Smart Preview usually is much less than 10, but the number of photos displayed in Grid view is always the correct 10.

Tested on LR 10.2 / Mac OS 11.1 and 10.2 / Windows 10.  Since it's occurred on three different machines, I haven't tried resetting preferences.

    This isn't fixed in LR 10.4 Mac. Here's the result of the bug recipe:

    Am using Lightroom 10.3 Classic. The library filter is not showing the correct count of the photos that has smart preview built. Please advise if this is a bug or something I am not doing correctly.
    I only build smart preview which I had photos that are flag which in turned gets to go to the a collection to synced to the web and to the Desktop Lightroom CC.

    Hi John

    I've observed this too, and did try resetting Preferences, which made no difference at all. Counts are vastly wrong, for example I built on all images in a folder of 1396. Yet the filter shows only 13 built.

    Interestingly, in Grid view for the 1383 that Lr says No Smart Previews, only 23 are displayed - correctly as they happen to be videos. In Grid view for the 'Has Smart Previews' (13) Grid view correctly displays 1373.

    So, it's purely the reported numbers that are incorrect (like Lightroom can't count the photos that it's correctly displaying!)
