The new Lightroom version has a major bug in the map module! When you try to position a photo somewhere on the map Lightroom 6.8 assigns a wrong position (near the spot).

Note Andreas' partial workaround: "It is possible to move the photo afterwards to the correct position (unfortunately that has to be done photo by photo as it does not work for several photos at the same time)."

This happens to me too:

- LR CC 2015.8 / Windows 10
- Preferences > Interface > Font Size: Large - 150%
- 2560 x 1440 display
-  LR running full screen
- Windows DPI scaling is 100%

When I drag photos to a map location they do not end up where I drop them. On the screen, the flag ends up higher and to the left of where the cursor is. Trial & error lets me get close by going lower & to the right. After several days of trying different things, I was able to isolate a link. In preferences /interface, there is no map problem when the font size is set to automatic, small . or medium. When set on large however the map problem returns.
I have twin Dell 27" monitors with the resolution at 2560 X 1440. I really need the font set to large to comfortably read the text.
So I can have either comfortably sized text or a properly functioning map.
Any ideas on how to have both?

Hi Andreas,

Are you using multiple monitors?

Thanks,

I did some more testing with different font sizes for the working area (Setting in Lightroom):
mittel -> photos are positioned at the wrong spot (huge difference)
gross 150% -> photos are positioned at the wrong spot (big difference)
grösser 200% -> photos are positioned at the wrong spot (small difference)
grösste 250% -> photos are positioned correctly!!!!!

That means: it has definitely something to do with the font size

I have a brand new Acer Aspire V Nitro with a 4K display (3840 x 2160).
I did some more testing and found out that only the initial dropping is not working (that means: the dropped photo is positioned somewhere else). But it is possible to move the photo afterwards to the correct position (unfortunately that has to be done photo by photo as it does not work for several photos at the same time).
Additional Remark:
when dropping a photo on the map the registered position is always more to the right and more down
