P: Render Smart Previews from LrC edited w custom profiles correctly in all Lr Photos cloud clients

Raw images with a custom camera profile not look correct when synced from Lightroom Classic to the cloud.  This is r-e-a-l-l-y inconvenient for updating my Adobe Portfolio.  The images look lousy in lightroom.adobe.com, LIghtroom Mobile (Android and iPadOS).  The workaround is to export as jpg, and then reimport into LrC and sync the jpg to the cloud - but that is unmanageable for more than just a few images.

Hi guys !
YEAR 2024 and this old annoying problem remains active !

I've recently worked for my daughter's school in a church and imported all the photos into Lr Classic (on my mac).
All my photos (taken with 2 Canon Cameras) have got their own custom profile created by X-Rite / Calibrite Color Checker Passport Camera Calibration software (v2.3.0 as the lastest version) and are processed to match color and White Balanced between both cameras.

After doing this, I've created a bunch of collections into Lr Classic with the Sync to cloud icon activated for all of the collections.
The collections are made public and when I browse the link, the photos into the galleries appears like they have been washed.  All the colors and the vibrant are gone !

After a couple days of investigation, my conclusions are the same as the one above.  The smart previews that are synced to the lightroom web galleries cannot handles correctly the custom profiles of my photos. In fact, they all appear to have the "Adobe Standard" profile which is a poor and flat color profile.

I've tried all the tricks enumerated earlier (before finding this thread). I've found that when I edited (and copy/paste the edit settings to all the photos) into Lr CC (or Lr Desktop as you name it) the previews are correctly rendered in the web gallery, but as soon as I relaunch Lr Classic to work on an another set of photos, the background sync process scratches all the previous edit made into Lr Desktop and my gallery is looking bad again.

I can't really imagine that a compagny such as Adobe is not able to solve this issue in 2024.  It's like the smart previews published on a synced web gallery are not allowed to be displayed with a custom camera profile.  Sorry Adobe, but your "standard profile" is not correct for me and the colors are too flat with no saturation at all 😞

I like the simplicity of being able to work in Lr Classic, create a collection and publish it to the world, everything in the same piece of software !  But this bug (because this is what it is !) is not admissible in 2024.

I've numerous collections that are affected by this issue.

Thanks for reading my long comment to this old thread, but you have to know that this bug is still present and not corrected !
Like my other friends on this thread, I don't really want to publish my photos on another galleries provider, but this non-solved issue could lead us to abandon your system ... Adobe wake up !!

Best Regards,
Dwarf

There doesn't appear to be any movement at all on this, and it's a showstopper for me.  I think I will move my gallery/website to Squarespace.

Rick,

This is the exact same issue that has plagued Lightroom sync with custom profile from the very beginning. I'll refer you to our original discussion on this issue from 2016. Although the original issue stemmed from a lack of support for custom profiles in the cloud ecosystem, Lightroom still cannot correctly render synced images that use a custom profile. Even after making a slight adjustment to the edit on a mobile or web version, these photos still do not display correctly in Adobe Portfolio. It seems like it should not be difficult to force the use of the custom profile when generating a thumbnail image. I'll be happy to provide examples if needed-I have thousands of images that are affected by this problem.

This is still an issue.  After syncing from LrC to the cloudd, even if I diddle something (like texture +1) on the cloud side, upon resyncing to LrC the fix becomes ineffective - even if the images on the LrC were not touched or changed subsequent to the sync.

Now it's working... I may have fumbled somewhere previously.

Hi Rikk -

The issue seems to have come back.  I edited (tweaked) in LrC one of my previously-synced images where I used a linear (custom) profile.  After syncing, it looked incorrect on lightroom.adobe.com, but correct after I diddled the texture up by one.  I let it sync back to LrC.  The image looks correct now in LrC, Lr, and lr.adobe.com, however it now looks incorrect in portfolio.adobe.com - even after refreshing the collection and even deleting/recreating the collection page.

On both Ps iPad and Ps Desktop, BOTH images (the original that doesn't look right in the cloud AND the image with a LrD adjustment workaround) look correct.
