P: Replacing an existing preset doesn't work

[Update: When creating a preset with the same name as an existing one, clicking Replace doesn't overwrite the old version.  See here for a precise recipe:

I use to create a new preset for every customer-shoot.... say NAMEXX.
When customer is on site i shoot colorcards and grey for LR even finer preset-setting....I measure and than always saved overwriting the NAMEXX preset that was created before actual shoot... LR warned that preset already exists but after confirmation overwrites and from there the new-adjusted is used with AUTO-IMPORT reading from the incoming NEF file.Since latest updates this does not work anymore..it seem old one is not over-written or at least not used from there onwards (flushing ??)....  please check !
Ps Also in line with this i would LOVE to see the mouse-scoll-button activated rolling though existing presets while selecting the one for AUTO IMPORT.

    Lightroom Classic CC 7.5 was released today and should address this issue.  If you don’t see the update in your Creative Cloud App, hit the [Ctrl/Cmd]+ [Alt/Opt]+[R] to force a refresh. 

    Give the new version a try and let us know if it solves the issue.

    I was able to reproduce from your instructions, John. I have logged a bug on it.

    When creating a preset with the same name as an existing one, clicking Replace doesn't overwrite the old version.

    Here's how to reproduce the bug (tested on LR 7.4 / Macos 10.13.5):

    1. Edit a photo in Develop and do Reset.

    2. Set Exposure = +2.

    3. Create a preset with just Exposure checked; name it X in User Presets.

    4. Click Reset in Develop.

    5. Set Exposure = -2.

    6. Create a preset with just Exposure checked; name it X in User Presets.

    7. When LR asks "Do you want to replace the existing preset with this one?", click Replace.

    8. Click Reset in Develop.

    9. Apply preset X. Observe that Exposure is set to +2 rather than -2 (bug).  

    10. Examine X.xmp and observe that it incorrectly contains:

       crs:Exposure2012="+2.00"

    You may find that it does solve the issue. AFAIK, presets are loaded into memory. That may explain why overwriting the preset doesn't work. Updating the preset should update it in memory too.

    Sounds like a good idea...doubt if it solves the issue but will try at first opportunity !

    Why do you overwrite the preset in the first place? The method to do this is to right-click on the preset and then choose 'Update with Current Settings'.
