P: Tether capture crashes lightroom (8345752)

I have a 13-inch M1 2020 macbook pro. It's fully up to date with venture and lightroom classic is fully up to date. When I go to tether capture, before the camera is even plugged in, lightroom completely crashes when i hit "okay"

I restarted the computer, restarted LR, restarted creative cloud, updated permissions, gave full disk access, uninstalled and reinstalled LR, all of it. It still does the same thing.

It's not the camera because I don't even have it connected when I'm launching tethering. I've tried using my hard drive and external hard drive as the location, but there's always the same end result.

Hi! I resolved this issue by updating the firmware on my actual camera!

I'm having the same problem on an M1 MacBook Pro, tried everything they say to do, rebooting, uninstalling, disconnecting camera, and it still crashes even without the camera connected. Has eanyone found a fix for this?

Mine is also a brand new 16 inch mac book pro.  It's definetly lightroom as it crashes when I don't even have the cord plugged into the computer.

Thanks @Andrew Giammarco  I was able to locate this report and it is not unique. I've logged a bug and will update this thread when there is more information.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s?  Apple’s?

I'm having the same issue. I have a new 16 inch MacBook Pro 2023, Ventura 13.4 and LR 12.3.
I can open the teather settings window but once i click on "OK" Lightroom shuts down. It does it with and with out the tether cable connect. I've done all the suggestuons I could find online but it's still an issue.
