P: Tethered Shooting with Fuji GFX100S broken since 14.4 & 14.5

So ever sice the update to LrC 14.4 the shutter button stopped working with tethered shooting. I've been using Lightroom to shoot tethered for years with my GFX100S and MBP M2 Max with no issue. I used the GFX tether plugin, then Fuji's Tether App and have both still installed. Whenever I update LrC to 14.4 - or now 14.5 the shutter button in Lightroom just stops working. I get accurate readings of the camera's settings, even live view within Lightroom and I can still manually release the camera's shutter button, but that kind of defeats the purpose, especially with the kind of sets I work with.

I've tried disabling both Fuji's tether plugin and tether app in Lightroom's plugin manager, did all kinds of reboots in combination with disabling one, then the other, or both plugins but nothing works. The camera's firmware is up to date and I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.6. The only thing that gets Lightroom to work reliably again with tethered shooting, is downgrading to 14.3.1. Anybody got any ideas?

Hi @Sameer K

are there any updates on this issue? We've tried connecting the camera to several devices running the latest version of LrC, but had no luck with tethering. I'd hate having to switch to a different software, but switching cameras is honestly much more expensive.

Thanks

Hey, @Eik0nic. Lightroom Classic's 15.0 didn't include a fix for the issue reported here. The team is working on it, and it'll arrive soon.

Thanks for your continued patience.

Hello @Sameer K and @Eik0nic. I am having the same issue with tethering my GFX100s to Lightroom Classic 15.1.1.  Live View works and I can change camera parameters, and AF is responsive, however the shutter will not fire.  I’ve tried this on an Apple Silicon M1 Macbook Pro (Tahoe 26.2) and an Intel Macbook Pro (Sequoia 15.7) - same result. I’ve removed all other tethering plugins and programs (eg Fujifilm Tether App and Tether Tools Smart Shooter) so they shouldn’t be stepping on each other’s toes. On the other hand, full tethering capability works fine with my old copy of Capture One 22.  But I’d rather stay with LrC if I can...

Hey, @5191082. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Rolling back to 14.3.1 may not help native tethering, as GFX100S requires 14.4 and later versions of Lightroom Classic.

GFX100S 14.4

If you roll back to 14.3 or earlier versions, you'll have to use the FujiFilm plugins. Head here to learn more: https://adobe.ly/4lythi5

For now, try removing any third-party plugins for tethering from Lightroom Classic and following the second (manual) method from this article: https://adobe.ly/4fOPxm4 to reset Lightroom Classic's preferences after removing the plugins.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi Sameer, thanks for the quick response. I've updated to 14.5 again, removed all third party plugins and deleted the com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7.plist file. I just hooked up the camera, started LrC and get the tether panel with the camera's settings, but no live view and still no working shutter button, unfortunately 😞
