P: Unable to advance to the next photo

Why no one writes about the fact that in develop mode, after any manipulation with a photo, it is impossible to go to the next photo in the feed? You go, but the photo remains the same as it was, you have to go back and only then go to the next photo. This is a global problem!!  Anyway, I did some research and I realized why many people are silent about it, because this problem occurs only when using the +\- buttons on any keyboard, even on macbook !!!!. If you use only mouse or touchpad, there is no problem with photo transition. That's why many photographers don't pay attention to it, because they don't use the keyboard. Therefore, ADOBE does not react in any way.

My LR 13.0.1 seems to be working ok now. Not sure what I did to make it so but:

I had the main LR on my external monitor, second screen on my MacBook Pro. I swapped them and it started working properly. Now to be clear I was having the issue of moving to the next photo with either the arrow key or changing the star rating and it automatically moving to the next image. The row of images across the bottom would move to the next image but the large loupe view image would not. After swapping screen views it started working properly (I think that was the trigger), I've since restarted my Mac, and LR, and have the external monitor set to the main LR window again and my MPB as my second screen and it is working properly while editing in Library. I've since worked in Develop mode and it seems to be working properly there as well.

I'm on the newest build of LR Classic. Never had this issue before.

When going to the next image it sometimes does not load. It stays on the previous image. The slider on the bottom will show me the next image but the large image is still the previous one. Any editing I do will edit the previous image that is still showing. The only way I can go to the next image is by selecting a different image and then going back to what was next.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Today marks two weeks since this thread was opened.  Those of us impacted by this bug -- and there are many of us -- are still waiting for a fix.

C'mon, Adobe.  Can't you do better?

Doesn't that flag the images with a 1 or zero rating? (Not at my desk to verify)

@josh45217  Yes, you are right, if you turn on Capslock and flip with the 1 or 0 buttons, after processing the photo it goes to the next one normally. I think for those who can't go back to version 12, this will be like an ambulance. ADOBE should thank you for this information and the handlers you have helped!

I've heard from a few friends that are all experiencing the same issue in 13.0.1 and no one can figure out how to fix it. Here is the problem:

When I'm editing photos in the devellop module, I'll tap the right arrow to get to the next photo and the current photo will stay on screen even though the new photo is showing on the film strip at the bottom of the screen. Attempting to make edits on the image will just edit the previous photo. I end up having to tap right left and click around to the grid and back in hopes that the new photo eventually pops in. I've tried rebooting, restarting and discarding and regenerating my previews but nothing gives. Let me know if you have seen this issue and igf you know of a fix.

Thanks!

Just jumping on to say I have the same issue. The workaround we are using is to use a 1 key or 0 and make sure caps lock is checked to autoadvance to the next image - basically a backwards way to go to the next photo or reject the image if needed. We tried the gpu test, smart previews on or off etc. I have 15 years as an Apple technician for many design firms and basically threw every solution at the issue. It's absolutely an adobe issue.

"This version should be out of the Creative Cloud.

Many will be affected.

For us here in the post, all are on version 12.5... But a lot of people don't use the forum for it.

Many YouTubers have videos of the new features, but none of the new features are worth working with a chronic problem like that for us who use Lightroom for mass photo treatment.
