P: Unable to advance to the next photo

Why no one writes about the fact that in develop mode, after any manipulation with a photo, it is impossible to go to the next photo in the feed? You go, but the photo remains the same as it was, you have to go back and only then go to the next photo. This is a global problem!!  Anyway, I did some research and I realized why many people are silent about it, because this problem occurs only when using the +\- buttons on any keyboard, even on macbook !!!!. If you use only mouse or touchpad, there is no problem with photo transition. That's why many photographers don't pay attention to it, because they don't use the keyboard. Therefore, ADOBE does not react in any way.

Hello Team,

Please find the below errors which team is facing right now while using LR 13.0.1

  • After opening the LR 13 catalog and going to the Develop mode, editing panel (right hand side) reflect/show a bit late than usual/previous LR catalog versions.

  • While editing an image and move to the next image, previous image still exist on display (instead of getting change quickly) and unfortunately changes are getting done on the next image. see the attachment

  • Some times gets corrupt in between while using the LR 13.0.1 - We need to restart from scratch which doesn't make sense of using it.

Another observation for Adobe which I hope will help in solving this bug. If I have a new collection with no edits applied, just imported and smart previews generated, then there is no issue moving from one image to the next in develop. I can't get the bug to show. It is only when I start to apply any edits that the bug appears, and it does so straight away. So it must be connected in some way to the previews and how they are indexed perhaps, as once you start to apply any adjustments, that's when the bug appears.

I face the same issues with -/+ keys when making adjustments.

The workaround as explained by Sameer has not fixed this issue. My workflow seriously depends on this and it has impacted my efficiency by a huge margin. I really hope this is corrected very soon.

one way I have noticed (which works but is a very slow process), is when using the -/+ keys to make your adjustment and then quickly advancing to the next image, pausing for 2 seconds for that adjustment to kick in, it will then allow you to move to the next image.

@Rafael _ Oz , I know what Prerelease and beta versions are. In my earlier post I asked a question of  a specific user what he was referring to as a beta. I did not know if he considered LrC 13.0.1 as a beta release.

On the particular issue raise by you, Lightroom Classic does have Prerelease applications however it's not available to all users.

Regards, Denis: iMac 27” mid-2015, macOS 11.7.10 Big Sur; 2TB SSD, 24 GB Ram, GPU 2 GB; LrC 12.5,; Lr 6.5, PS 24.7,; ACR 15.5,; (also Laptop Win 11, ver 24H2, LrC 15.0.1, PS 27.0; ) Camera Oly OM-D E-M1.

Issue: In the develop module, when advancing to the next image, Lightroom sometimes fails to display the next image and instead shows the previous image.

The correct image does flash briefly, but is then replaced with the wrong (previous) image.

Advancing another image forward and then backing up again almost always gets the correct image to display.

  • Lightroom Classic Version Number: 13.0.1
  • OS Version Number: macOS 13.6 (Ventura)
  • Processor: 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9
  • GPU: AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB
  • RAM: 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Activate the Develop module
  2. Edit an image and then advance to the next image using right arrow or mouse click

Expected result
: Next image will be displayed in main window

Actual result: PREVIOUS image displayed in main window.
Note: This is intermittent behavior/soft error. It doesn't happen all the time. It does seem to happen more when you are rapidly moving through images than it does when you go from image to image more slowly.

@DdeGannes

"" A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to try under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as a result""

In the Creative Cloud app you should see on the "Apps" section "Apps on beta" .
But Lightroom does not have this. Maybe because of the catalogs .

@vitalyn38151610 Stop assuming things here. My reply was done in a separate post which was then merged into this post. As with other bugs, new posts get merged to keep the information related to the bug together. My first reaction to all bug posts is to test the behaviour, which I'm not seeing here. Rikk has access to the currently known bugs here, but not everyone has knowledge of all these, and it was only on the merge that I became aware of this one.
