P: Update to process version 5 causes adjustments badge to disappear

So far I have only found this to affect Clarity and/or Dehaze alone. To reproduce:

Start with an image that has no develop adjustments and is process version 4.

Change Clarity or Dehaze, or both. The adjustment badge [+/-] shows on the film strip thumbnail.

Update the image to process version 5 (Settings->Update to Current Process)

The adjustment badge [+/-] disappears.

In the Library module, if you filter Edits, the adjusted image doesn't show as I would expect if Lr doesn't consider it has any edits.

If you change the process version to 5 in the Calibration panel, the problem doesn't occur.

I can't duplicate this behavior either on Lr8 and osx 10.13.6.    I move the sliders and the process lightning bolt icon does NOT disappear.

I tried it on my Win7 x64 and LR 8, but as soon as I move the clarity slider, the little icon to update the process disappears and the Settings->Update to Current Process menu is greyed out. This works the same with every slider, not with clarity and/or dehaze only.
Looks like moving a cursor force a process upgrade.

I just tried this on my other machine, a desktop Win 7 Pro 64, which still has Lr Classic 7.5 installed. I started with an image with no develop adjustments and process version 3. I bumped Clarity up which changed the process version to 4. ??? I then changed the process version back to 3 and selected Settings->Update to Current Process. The adjustments badge disappeared, just like Lr Classic 8 on my laptop.

My system is Windows 7 Pro 64. There must be only Clarity or Dehaze adjustments. If there are any other adjustments, the problem doesn't occur for me.

I can’t duplicate this behavior. It worked as expected in Lr 8 and OS X 10.14.0
