Photos moving in map module

I’ve spent YEARS thoroughly placing each photo on the correct location by dragging them from the film strip onto the map in the map module. 
Only recently did I notice that when zooming in on my house for example, that the photos have moved around significantly, causing them to be placed on top of neighbouring houses etc. What is causing this to happen? 

Adjusting all thousands of photos again would take a lot of time, and I presume it will be bugged once more. 

I notice there are similar bug reports from many years ago, but they seem to be connected to Windows users. I use Lightroom Classic on Mac only. 

We pay a lot of money each month for your products. This should be fixed immediately!

Anyone have suggestions for other software to add geo data to your photos?
