Embroidery Layer Seems Bugged

Hi,

Taking my first stab at using Sampler for creating patches to pull into Painter. However, when I load the embroidery filter, it get stuck at loading and the loading bar around the filter and the material is extremely chaotic, flashing and not circling the itcon smoothly. (attached video for ref). If i let it run Sampler eventually crashes.

Updated to the latest studio driver, restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled and still getting the issue. Other layers like emboss seem to work fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks Cyril!

Indeed this was the solution. Not only does embroidery work in 2023 not, without 2022 needing to be isntalled, but this solution also added back in the missing parameters.

From your previous messages, you could also try to uninstal 2022 version and Clean the data for the 2023 version. In order to clean the data, delete the files in

STEAM:
  • Win: ~/AppData/Roaming/Allegorithmic/ Adobe Substance 3D Sampler
  • Mac: /Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Allegorithmic/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler
  • Linux: /home/username/.local/share/Allegorithmic/Substance 3D sampler
ADOBE:
  • Win :~/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler
  • Mac: /Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler

I guess this should also solve the issue.

For the 2023 Embroidery, the 4.1.0 release brought an update to this filter, with different parameters. If you still want to use the Legacy version, you'll find it in the Community assets library.

Best regards,

After some further toying around, embroidery works when both 2022 and 2023 are installed, but in both version, when the embroidery loads, I am missing the following options fromt he basic parameters:

Stitch Density
Mode embroidery
Outline threshhold

Have these options moved? The documentation shows them as being in the parameters of the embroidery setting but they're not showing for me.

Not sure if this would matter, but figure I'll mention that I am on the steam version.

Hey Cyril,

Here's the link to my log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lKKaF-fBK6ci-svCPYKAuH9dLqYYw240/view?usp=sharing

So, other layers seem to work fine (didn't try them all). So, I just reinstalled 2022 and embroidery works perfectly on it. When I started 2022 I was met with this message:

Data Compatibility
You're trying to open local data (projects, resources and preferences) with and older version of Substance Sampler 3D that is not compatible.
Do you want to backup your current local data and restart Substacne 3D Sampler in a clean slate?

I clicked Backup & Restart, even though I was just opening the program and not trying to load a project. However, what's weird is that while 2022 is installed, embroidery works on 2023! After it started working, I uninstalled 2022 and embroidery broke again in 2023.

Hi @McRibs,

Could you share your log (Help > export log) after experiencing infite loading bug, so I can have a better idea on what's happening? Also, does the issue occur with other filters? Do you have the same problem with previous version of sampler?

Best regards,

Unfortunately this didn't help. I can't get past loading the embroidery later in, not matter whate it just seems to get stuck at processing and the loading bar just spins and spins.
