Issue with floor tiles filter

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to point out something I noticed with the latest version of the Tile filter in Substance Sampler.

In older versions, the tile gap could be set really narrow, which made it super useful for realistic tile work (especially for ceramic or terrazzo surfaces). But in the updated version, the gap looks much wider by default, and it seems like you can’t reduce it enough to get that subtle joint anymore.

I’ve attached two images to show what I mean:

  • The first one is from an older filter with a more realistic joint

  • The second is using the new version, and the gap is just too thick for most real-world use

Would love to see an update that lets us set the gap smaller again — or ideally just bring back the older behavior as an option. It used to be great for photorealistic renders, but now the joints just look a bit cartoonish.

Thanks!

This faily to acknolwedge that Floor Tiles has an even bigger bug, when you 'don't' use the English pattern, only shows the grout, no underlying base material.

Hi @Oualid236692084p5s,

Thank you for your message.

As answered on Discord, I agree the new filter is less intuitive to use, but you can get similar results as with the old one. Try to decrease the "Bevel Radius" to 0 and increase the "Shape Scale" to 1.05.
